I'm hoping to meet other moms (or dads) with babies to play with my son Eric, who is nearly eleven months old. We live out of Hannover in Osterwald (the sticks) which is near to Garbsen or Neustadt.
I'm English and my husband is German (naturlich).
Anyone parents with kids interested in meeting up?

Just stumbled over this website looking for english playgroups in Hannover. We are leaving Scotland in about 4 weeks time and I am trying to find out bits and pieces searching online. We have a nearly 2-year-old son and I am also expecting a little sibling for Max who will probably be born in Hannover beginning of next year. By the way my husband is Scottish and I am German - "unnatuerlich"? Anyway, it would be great to meet other English(German) speaking mums and dads as I am sure Max will get quite a shock when he realises that suddenly everyone speaks German - not just "Mama".

I have heard that some English-language playgroups exist, but haven't been able to nail anything down myself. I think there is an AWO one at least one day a week.
Our kids are being raised bilingually as well (English-German). Our son is a bit over 3, our daughter is not quite 2.
If you poke around the threads on this site you'll no doubt notice there are various English-language groups in Hannover as well. This thread in particular (click here) talks about them. I organize two of them -- H4ES and the Anglican church services -- and also sometimes do book readings for kids at Escape Books (like I am tomorrow), so maybe we'll run into each other at one or the other place (muahahahaha, there's no escaping me, run while you can *cough*cough*).
Anyway, would be a pleasure to meet you when you get here.

For a few months now, Hannover4EnglishSpeakers has been offering a children's reading and playgroup. It takes place on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 am-noon, at the Alt-Katholisches Gemeindezentrum, Brabeckstraße 24, Hannover-Kirchrode (map here).
Children of all ages are welcome. Please bring some books, toys and snacks to share. There is no charge, but a small donation is requested for using the parish hall.
