Hello all,
So first of all, I have searched, because I’m certain this must have been asked previously:

So after living here for 6 months now, I’m disappointed with my progress in German. What I’d really like to meet is someone who can speak only a little English, but not by any means fluent. I would post a request for a Tandem partner here on TT, but obviously, all the Germans I’ve met here can speak very good English.

So my question is: are there other websites, or locations were one can seek native speakers for language exchange (in Munich)?

P.S.

To head off un-helpful replies: Yes, I realize I could just speak German with the ones I know, but I really like it when both sides are learning, and both sides are around the same level

Also, I did go through the Tandem school once already.

That confuses me. On the one hand you want to communicate with native speakers, but they should be learning German just like you?

By tandem school do you mean this, SprachDuo München? I used SprachDuo last year to find a German/English Tandem partner and was lucky, I found two. Also, although it isn't perfect German, it has helped to hang out with the people I've met in my German classes because at least I get to speak more German.

Sorry if that wasn't clear... I want someone who is learning English, and at about the same level as my German.

I've seen the german stammtisch, but I was hoping for more of a one-on-one.

Sprachduo is supposedly good. Not for learning German, but as a free online dating service to help you pick up the natives.

Well, it depends on what you are looking for. tongue.gif I was looking to improve my German, so only looked for other female students like myself.

Of course, I've been told that is the best way to learn any language, so perhaps it goes hand in hand.

Try new-in-town - it has a pinboard where people often advertise for English/German "Austausch".
