Billiard halls

I am looking for a non-sleezy billiard hall where I can play pool and have a pint and watch a match without worrying about what's in my beer or if I'm gonna get shanked as I walk out. Any ideas?

There's a place at Grossneumarkt near Stadthausbrucke that advertises "American Pool". I think its called Sam's. Might be wrong. I haven't been in there, but you can always get a decent pint accross the road at The Irish Rover.

There's this bar called Shovel Road I go to sometimes to shoot a game or two. The tables are really good and the cues usually in top condition. I like the cowboy atmosphere and friendly people. It's on Gasstraße in Bahrenfeld. Actually if you're up for a game sometime we should go shoot some. Do you play snooker or straight 8-ball?

Billard-cafe Kö was a fun billards place with beer and friendly service--it is located near Barmbek-Süd!

Cowboy Atmosphere - that could be realy fun or all bad. Is there sawdust on the floor or dudes in ass-less leather chaps?

I shoot 8 and sometimes 9-ball. I suck at snooker and the worst beating I have ever taken on the table was by a 5'2" tiny female snooker league player. I didn't get to touch a ball for 6 games and she ended up winning all nine games. I had the privelage of getting to sink five total balls all night, paying for the games and buying her drinks - I hav e a little left over anomosity for snooker...

I am looking for a place that is more of a billard hall that serves beer instead of a bar with a couple of tables, but I will play at a bar from time to time. Silty, we are meeting for the book swap in a couple of weeks, but I wouldn't mind a game before then. When are you free next week? Billard-cafe Kö sounds like a place to check out as well. actually it will have to wait a bit because i'm very busy the next four weeks. things should start settling down in july!

I haven't been to this Kö, but the others i know fit this desciption.

I would be up for some 8-ball anytime. And I agree, snooker sucks!

Actually cowboy atmosphere was a bit off: how about roadhouse style? Anyway, Shovel Road is a bar, but it has eight tables, in good condition last time i was there.

Billardcafe Trio in Wandsbek, Two floors of pool, billiards and snooker with Two proper bars, used to work there as a barman many years ago, no TV for the footie though, although maybe that has changed. The whole place has a very english feel to it, with most of the wood fittings for the bar, seats, benches, etc taken from an old English Church.

I wouldn't mind shooting a game or two of pool with you guys sometimes - I totally suck but I still enjoy it so long as I'm not thrashed too hard

I recommend Shovel Road (already mentioned). I was there last night, but the main attraction was Darts. Still people playing pool though. Very clean and nice atmosphere. Good service too.

I just saw this thread and got really excited! I haven't played billiards in a while, but I have a need to get back into it. We should try to all meet up and play sometime!
