I just got married in the states and have recieved the marriage certificate. However i can´t get an apppostille attached to it yet as they people in the
town hall say something about the marriage not being registered by the state. How long after getting married and recieving the marriage
certificate can you get the appostille. They said it takes a few weeks.

My wife is American how long will it take her to get German residency ???

P:S No more jokes about my Easter European woman thread.

just b/c your wife marries you, does not mean she will automatically get permanent residency for germany. i might have read this on TT. same goes for work permit.

Assuming your German... your wife should be able to get permanent residency right away... atleast that was the case with us.
She won't be eligible for citizenship for like 5 yrs though.

I am actually British, but i don´t think getting hre permanent residency should be a problem.
