Acetone will work,
Or high percentage alchohol.

Acetone is the stuff. Borrow a bottle of nail polish remover, that's all it is

Nail Polish Remover is not as strong as straight Acetone and is also rubbish for removing glitter nail polish. I'll grab a bottle of it though as it will do the job, I just thought that there may be something stronger out there.
Its only for a metal white board in my apartment, its not for any hard to reach places.

Er what did you get the marker on exactly...rock, paper, scissors/ animal, vegetable, mineral? Acetone will work but it might ruin your clothing, definitely can ruin some furniture, or your nail polish obviously...so test a small site out if its something fancy. Oy and stop giving yourself tats. Just buy the damn "Im with Stoopid" t-shirt already.

Spiritus-the kind you use to start a charcoal grill with (well, I do). Can be bought at
Tengelmann even and comes in a green plastic bottle.

The pic DDbug posted reminds me how good Pampers wipes are for removing all sorts of pen, crayon and paint.
Nail polish remover or perfume work well on a white board.

Toothpaste worked for me on a parquet floor, though it was only a small bit to remove.

did you try going over it with a white board marker and then rubbing it off like normal. We always wrote on the white boards at school to annoy the teachers. all they did was write over it with a white board marker and rub it off.

I had the same problem, went to that office store at Marienplatz, and the girl's comment was You shouldn't do that. I felt like exploding at her.
So went to chemist, got acetone, and some kind of alcahol, both of which worked very well.
I managed to get a small permanent marker dash on my flat screen. (It was one of those juggling-several-things-at-once freak accidents) Will the nail polish remover hurt the screen if I use it to get the marker off?

be very careful with nailpolish remover- it will eat finishes on alot of things and melt some plastics. I wouldn't suggest it for a white board- you will ruin the finish, I would do like someone else suggested- use the right markers then try to rub that off.
Nailpolish remover is nasty stuff and can eat carpet.

I use acetone all the time and it should do the trick. If your stuck with a bottle of acetone afterwards photocopy some photographs of yours ( in the reverse mode if copy machine allows). Place those photographs face down on paper ( say on some tasty hotpressed paper) and rub acetone through the photocopies in a circular motion for about twenty seconds. Let dry and peel apart if not already. You get a softy replica of your photograph. You can hand tone if you feel confident. I recommend oils , tubed water color paints, or pastel pencils ( Caran D' Arche makes the best ) . Dude why you drawing on the wall? Are you a tagger? Your suppose to tag other people's property not yours.

Hiya,
so cute the Kids. the picture made me laugh actually :-)
I will recommend just wash them with water and soap and it will go off after a while .I would strongly recommend not to use any harsh chemical on kids skin.To speed up the process, cover them in baby oil before they take a bath and cream them after the bath
bless, so cute
I hope this can help

This should win some kind of award. Though in fairness, there probably are people on here who'd leave their kids like that for the best part of a day while waiting for TT to tell them what to do...

OMG NO.
Use nothing but Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. It's benign to (nearly) all surfaces unlike most of the things listed above. It also works better, smells less, and evaporates completely without leaving any residue.
If you call
Sharpie they'll tell you the same.

Probably. Isopropyl alcohol won't.

Did you try white-out? (Tippex)

3 Lions has confided in me that the reason he needs to get the marker pen off it because he wants to remove the 'notches' on his bed-post as he has run out of space. So basically we are looking at a couple of hundreds straight lines of about an inch each in length.

Acetone will still work though, and is fun to play with.
