State of Origin - tips on where to watch it

Australian rugby league, next: Wed. 11.Jun.2008

There's been a little bit of interest in this, so I'll be opening The Arc tomorrow at 11:30 or so to show the 2nd State of Origin game.

I'll tape it and show the replay at 6 - 6:30pm, as I'm pretty sure I can spare a TV or 2 while the Tunisia v Saudi "blockbuster" is on

Darn... now I need to look for some other place to go with my 50 Saudi mates to watch the match and enjoy our fresh nicely poured sparkling minerals...

Hi

Does any one know where you can watch the State of Origion Live this Wenesday at midday on Sentana. I know the Arc has Sentana but not open, any one else interested? Does Ned Kellys have Sentana?

The Arc are showing a recorded version at 9PM on the small TV. Setanta show alot of the games from the NRL each week as well and is the coverage is alot better than Sky did. Think the games they show are from Channel 9 and Fox. Setanta are showing the game at 2.30PM as well if you cant get to see it live.

Queenslander! Not from Queensland myself but always like to see the Maroons win! biggrin.gif

Queensland are favourites especially being at home for the first game, but anything can happen in State of Origin and there is no other Rugby Game of either code that matches the passion and emotion of Origin! The standard of the game is usually extremely high and the hits are somethingelse while the skills on show seem to rise a notch by the players when they are in Origin.

Absolute hogwash.

Typical comment from someone who has never seen quality rugby league.

What the line ups lack above is some quality nicknames. I've been out of australia too long to know the nicknames of these overpaid boofheads but will listen along today to Roy and HG.

I long for the days when Paul "the brick with eyes" Lazarus, "Backdoor Benny"Elias and Paul "Don't the poms hate him" Sirronen locked horns with with "King" Wally Lewis, Alfie "deborah kerr" Langer and Greg "dishhead" Dowling.

ADMINHIDE-->"The festival of the boot" kicks off at 11:30 am euro time on Triple J and thankfully they stream.

For those interested, the second game gets underway in about 20 minutes. You can again listen on the web to the triple J broadcast and the good news is that Roy has returned. The link is in a post above and the Roy and HG are already ranting away in their inimitable style.

Cheers for reminder - fellow Munich gulag inmates will be pleased to know that the WM steam gets past the firewall.
The Arc
It's that time of year again and once again the games will be shown at The Arc.

Game 1: Wednesday 21st May 2008, 11:30.
(Yes. tomorrow morning)

Bad news for fans of Roy and HG this year. Whilst Roy and HG are still calling the game, it is not available for live streaming on the internet thanks to streaming broadcasting rights. Capitalist bastards, - don't you just hate them ruinning the internet?

Game One coverage kicks off at 7:30pm on Wednesday 21 May. Unfortunately, the call won't be available on the live internet audio stream due to online rights

I hope one can download it as a podcast a few days later.

Unfortunately I can't take the day off work to watch it in the pub.

If you're stuck at work, the radio broadcast Triple J: This Sporting Life with Roy & HG will get past most firewalls.
Am sure someone will know somewhere that shows it.

The match will be shown live on Setanta Sports 1, so you are limited to bars that have this channel. The Arc, perhaps?

Coverage starts at 11:30am German time, KO is midday.

And I would love to watch it with some NSW people so I can see their faces when QLD wins!.
