The Adventure Club is a monthly concert series in Substanz which showcases 3-4 bands in a cool, unique manner. This is the last one... so don't miss it!!

The bands are the best that Munich has to offer, plus some non-local acts and bigger name surprises. All are carefully selected by The Adventure Club staff. The concept is different: the stage is already set up... bands play two rounds each instead of a traditional opening and headlining band. This month's bands are:

CONVERTIBLE
The Power-Trio from Hans Platzgumer (HP Zinker), Thomas Wühr (LAZY, KAMERAKINO), and Polina Lapkovskaya (POLLYester, KAMERAKINO). After HP Zinker's successful run with Matador and Domino records, grabbing a Grammy nomination and playing gigs with legendary bands like Lemonheads, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, and Ween, Hans Platzgumer came back to Europe and played with Goldenen Zitronen, among others before forming Convertible.
Psychadelic sequences with irresistable melodies and raw energy. The band's first single "Your Pull in Gone" hit number one in the Austrian alternative charts. It's a rare chance to see this band play in a small indie club and the last time in Munich before Tollwood this summer.

LAGOON
A boisterous rock and roll outfit, grounded on the sounds of The Hives, Mando Diao, and others. Having toured Europe and even playing support for The Bravery, it's another chance to see a band that normally plays on much bigger stages.

JULIAN HEIDENREICH & The Truck Driving Buddhas
Acoustic guitar. Keys. Bass. Drums. Simple, warm, and brave music with an abundance of emotion. The perfect soundtrack for a warm, Spring evening in Substanz.

German Press:
IN München

Auletta
Indie/Rock'n'roll from Mainz. Simple, pure, and original in German text. This is a big night for these guys since SonyBMG in Munich is coming to the gig to check them out. For a band that almost 40,000 hits on their myspace page, they've already achieved a lot. To get a taste, check out their fantastic video either on the Adventure Club webpage or the Auletta site.

So all in all, a cool, laid-back Sunday evening with lots of music. In the first round, bands play for 10 minutes (around 2 songs). In the second round, bands play for 20 minutes (around 4-5 songs). No waiting for the stage to be set up. Pure, local, music. m94,5 DJs finish off the night afterwards... nice way to end a weekend.

Come check it out!

Awesome evening. Packed. Really glad I went. I'd pay to see Convertible again. Not only a babe on bass, but by eck, can she play? Very inventive stuff. I just hope the event gets a new organiser (very well done, Brandon) and it can live again. Superb stuff.
