anyone out there from chicago? just curious`.a

Hi Tiannac and welcome to Germany. I'm actually from Chicago, but some of these TT'ers may dispute that fact as some of them may think I'm an alien being that's infiltrated the forum ohmy.gif . I've lived in Germany for 10 years and I'm looking forward to visiting Chicago in July for the first time in 3 years. Regarding Hyde Park, I went to elementary school on 56 and woodlawn at Ray Elementary School I'm sure you know were that is. I love Hyde Park too, but don't spend much time there as when I'm in Chicago I stay downtown. My favorite part of Chicago is the lakefront and I'm looking forward to jogging along the lake front downtown and in Grant Park when I go to Chicago.
tiannac
sweet, i am going the week of the 4th of july, u?
Lavender Rain
I'm probably not going to be in Chicago until after the 4th of July, probably after the 15th of July will be good for me. I will probably stay for about two weeks and maybe longer if I'm inspired.
tiannac
so i guess you like it here if you are 10years and counting.. i have been here 9 days so obviously i am missing home. if you want to get a beer or tea, et al email me cause i miss speaking english, my german sucks. have a great weekend! ciao
Lavender Rain
I actually do love living in Germany, but there are challenges to living in Germany being an expat. I don't ever want to live back in Chicago again as it's a concrete jungle there and I prefer the amazing nature here. I will be in Munich next Friday, so yes let's do tea and crumpets as the brits say. I will be in touch with you next week and PM you my handy number. Get out and meet some of the other TT folks in Munich and you can speak some English then. Look forward to meeting you next week.

Thought I'd bring this Chicago thread back. I've lived in Deerfield (Lincolnshire, 1974-80), Wheaton (1988-93) and Hyde Park (1993-2001). Before moving to Munich earlier this year, I lived in St. Louis, where I remained a loyal Cubbies fan. Was it not soooo cool that we made the playoffs this year while the Cards didn't? laugh.gif

If you guys do another meet-up, please let me know! I'm from the burbs, grew up in the area from age 6 on. I might be moving back early next year though, still weighing the good and bad regarding the move and so far Chicago is winning.

Geez, now I'm thinking about Wieners Cirlce and how good a char dog would be right now sad.gif

...actually wouldn't you rather a chocolate milkshake?

Born & raised in the Chicago area (Wayne, small town between St. Charles & Elgin). Have been here in Munich for 16 years. What I miss most about the States are day games in Wrigley...

ohhh gosh...my eyes were permanently scarred

i loved the 25 year old suburban abercrombie wearing working in the city thinking they're urban even though they've never been outside of lincoln park or downtown--white kids fighting with the huge breasted ghetto women.

p.s. west rogers park what-what!
