Hey all,

so this might be old news, but the other night I decided I wanted to try something other than the standard fare of German beer. So I thought I'd go to the place I had seen in my neighborhood: Haus der 111 Biere. Unfortunately, it was gone.

I'm not able to find any older threads on this. Did it move, or is it out of business? What are some alternatives for people who want to sample a large variety of beers from around the world?

Edit: ok, I did find the foreign beer discussion.

Not sure if it's still there or not - been too scared to go back after my first visit. Sadly, the only other option for trying international beers in Bavaria is, er, to leave Bavaria.

While the selection was good, that was the only good thing about that pub. Never liked the place. Not sure it was scary, just unpleasant.

Any they never had the really weird beers in stock.

Yes, Haus der 111 Biere closed in 2006.

Barschwein have moved into their premises. Note that Barschwein now have two locations: Franzstraße 3 (formerly 111 Biere, near Münchner Freiheit) and Tengstraße 20 (formerly Twisted Bavarian, near Theresienstraße).

fond memories of the place the one time I dared to go in smile.gif I think ciars might remember that night. We made it to seven and the twisted bavarian before catching the five o'clock train back to freising. It wasn't a place for the timid that was for sure. That being said I think if you stayed downstairs and kept to yourself it probably wouldn't have been anything interesting. Even for having 111 beers the selection still kinda sucked and the stock was old.

I passed by there the other day and noticed that it was no longer there as well. Can't say I will miss it.
