Moms with kids sought north of Munich

Hi all - I have just arrived in the Munich area with my husband and two sons, ages 3 and 5. We will be living in Garching. I am American and we would love to meet up with other English-speaking families with similar aged kids for some playdates. My kids will not be able to go to kindergarten until September and they are BORED!! They speak German as they have a German dad. Looking forward to hearing from someone.

My daughter is only 20 months, so although she's very sociable and will undoubtedly be missing her friends, I'm afraid she's a bit young to play with your 2 (she'd love them I'm sure, but of course they would be unlikely to find her quite the playmate they're looking for!)... I just wanted to add to the thread though, as we're moving to Reichertshausen, which is also north of Munich, a week tomorrow! Co-incidentally my daughter also has a German dad, but so far he has been a bit lazy about speaking German to her (we're in the UK 'til next week) so she only knows a few German words, although her language in English is advanced for her age... I'm sure she'll pick German up very quickly (quicker than me) though!

I posted on here a while ago, and remember that there are a few people about north of Munich with pre-school children - I'm hoping some will be interested in forming a bit of an ad-hoc / informal mum or parent and toddler group at some point, as I know there are already a group from here who meet more in central Munich.

Look forward to seeing who replies on here! If anyone has younger children my daughter and I would love to meet up - any expectant mums too, as I'm expecting my second in September!
