Are there any expat sports clubs in Berlin? I've been trying to find some kind of sport to do at weekends such as hockey, but can't find a thing!! Am open to any sport, but if anyone knows of a hockey club please let me know!!

Why does it have to be an expat club? There are heaps of normal hockey clubs in Berlin.

Doesn't have to be, any club will do, just going from previous experience in other countries!

Erm, slightly different subject but can anyone point me toward any amateur Fussball clubs (expat or native) that will be holding trials for next season?

I suggest you search out one close to where you live and just turn up whilst they are having a training session to see what it's like. You could do this for a few clubs until you find one at the right standard, with friendly people and nice facilities.

We have two teams (1 decent, 1, er, not always so good) playing in the Freizeit Liga in Berlin...always on the look out for new players. Training is on a Tuesday night in C'Burg, games usually Saturday morning.

Hi all,

we have a touch club (AKA touch football or touch rugby) in Berlin and we have weekend social touch on Sundays at 3pm. We also have training on thursday evenings 6.30 and send teams to tournaments in and around germany for those with the competitive urge and there is the german national teams that attend the european championships etc, for those who qualify and are real keen.

the makeup of the club varies but presently we are majority expat with various nationalities and english is mostly spoken at training etc.

just to clarify ... Touch is NOT rugby - many people assume automatically that it is one & the same

Touch is a light/minimal contackt sport that is played in MIXED format (guys & gals together) both socially and at competitive level (right up to the world cup level), so no more injury risk than any other sport that involves predominantly running.

They play social touch every sunday from 11 am in the Rehbergen.

Touch training in the summer is held on tuesdays and thursdays between 6:30pm and 9pm at the ground of BSV 92:

Our summer training is over as of end of sep (we only get the fields and changerooms at the club from April to Sep) but we are playing social touch every weekend until the weather turns too rotten.
We are meeting at 12 midday every sunday (unless otherwise noted on the website - it gives the time & date of the next social touch in the top right corner of the homepage on touchberlin.de.
