I'll add more info on this show as we get closer to it, but I wanted to get the following on the calendar. Crazy Vancouver Accordionist Geoff Berner (Whiskey Rabbi, The Wedding Dance of the Widow Bride), who played Kaffee Burger back in December, is returning to Berlin to play at Eschschloraque:

Friday 1 June 2007 from 21:00
Eschschloraque
Rosenthaler Str 39
10178 Berlin-Mitte
(S Hackescher Markt)

I'm not sure if he'll be playing solo accordion again or if he's touring with his band of Wayne Adams (percussion) and Diona Davies (violinist from Po'Girl).

For Canadians who've never heard of him, he wrote "Light Enough to Travel", which was covered by The Be Good Tanyas.

A little more information is up on the Eschschloraque site now. Once again Geoff will be supported by Daniel Kahn and The Painted Bird. Daniel is a Detroit Native who was introduced to Klezmer in the Big Easy by the New Orleans Klezmer All Stars and now makes his home in Berlin.

Reminder for those who don't hate accordion music...

BTW, if anyone wants to grab dinner in the Hackescher Markt area before the show, drop me a PM.

You know the definition of "perfect pitch"? When you throw the banjo into the dumpster and it lands on the accordion. wink.gif
