"Mums and bumps" meet ups, approximately once a week at a restaurant or cafe in Berlin. All English-speaking mums and mums-to-be are welcome. Check this posting regularly for updates on the latest when and where.

Hey ladies, bumps and bubbas

Milo and I will be away for another visit to the UK this Friday so sadly won't be making it to Mums and Bumps. Should no venue be decided by Weds late afternoon than I will put one forward.

However, this post is to say that the following Friday's FRIDAY 30TH OCTOBER Mums and Bumps meetup will be a special HALLOWEEN themed meet for anyone who wants an excuse to dress up your kids, I konw I certainly do!!! I haven't yet thought of a location but just thought people may want some notice to prepare appropriately. Please don't be put off from coming if you don't fancy coming themed, as always the meet will be a chance for everyone to natter, swap info and eat cake but just thought it'd be a nice twist for those of us out there who need a bit of Halloween in our lives

So once again in brief:
FRIDAY 30TH OCTOBER: SPECIAL HALLOWEEN MUMS AND BUMPS

Prepare to be spooked HA HA HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Erm, something like that?!

I'm feeling pro-active but not very creative (and also a bit frozen and not keen on walking far from the U-bahn), so I will propose the back room of Nola's for this Friday. I'll bring little-t's striped blanket, since foreverescape's busy bee won't be there.

For the Halloween mums and bumps I was going to suggest for Amitola Familiencafe Krossener Str. 35, Friedrivhshain, 01714181031 www.amitola-familienca..

Thought it would be a good spot for both babies and toddlers to enjoy the Halloween fun as they have a lovely play area. Buggies need to be left outside but they do have locks to borrow. ??

Hi girls,
Just thought I'd throw one more suggestion into the mix for Friday (or another week). How about Marcann's Berlin. The cafe is located at Invalidenstrasse 112 (U Zinnowitzer/S Nordbahnhof). They have a non-smoking back room with quite a lot of seating and very yummy croissants and milch coffee!

We met two weeks ago at Spielzimmer, I was there with my husband and our daughter, Anna. We'd like to try to join you tomorrow, will anyone still be there around 4:00? The other group that you told us about meets at 11:00, so it's not possible for us to join them. Thanks anyway for the tip.

I'm planning to be there tomorrow and am already planning on dressing myself as a pumpkin for Halloween. Actually, a 39 week pregnant lady might be scary enough; no costume necessary

Hi Malesherbes - Yes, there are almost always still people there at 4pm, and I will definitely still be there at 4pm tomorrow.

Leah - hurrah! I'm glad you will be able to come at least once or twice more while still in one piece. Well, I showed up at 40+4 and no one ran away screaming, so we should be okay. I still need to find a costume for myself and little-t....

We had a lovely time on Friday afternoon thanks Sarah although of course it wasn't the same without you and Milo there!

I thought I'd share some info that one of the Baby Babblers just told me about. There's a company called Mobilier Windelshop that goes around to the diaper manufacturers and buys up all the seconds (thankfully not used, only those with small aesthetic flaws!) and then travels around Germany selling them for almost half price. They come to various locations in Berlin each month. To find out their schedule you need to contact the company by phone/ email. Hi all bumps

I have a Tens machine hiring service if any of you lovely bumpies are wanting some additional pain relief during labour.It sends small electrical pulses to the body via electrodes. You can adjust the intensity of the pulses depending on the stage of labour that you are in. I used one myself during labour and can highly recommend it. If you would like more information please pm me and I will email you the information pack, I also will be at mums and bumps this Friday.
