Well, he knew he shouldn't have been scratching the lamp at 4 am because he wanted me to get up and feed him. And he wouldn't come near me when I did get up - until I walked into the kitchen. Then I grabbed him, took him to the lamp and showed him who the alpha cat in this house is.
