You can get American Ranch at the fancy Hertie (?) across from Nordbad and the Hertie at Hauptbanhof. I think it's actually Newman's rather than Hidden Valley but that is likely as good as it gets...

Texans put Ranch on "hot wings" while New Yorkers put Blue Cheese on "Buffalo wings." I much prefer the latter.

C'mon people, Google is your friend. Don't be lazy, just make your own:

Makes 2 qts, so you might want to cut it in half:

4 tablespoons dry parsley flakes
1 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons onion salt
1 quart mayonnaise
1 pint sour cream
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons MSG or Accent brand (optional)
1 pint buttermilk

Directions:

Combine all ingredients. Allow flavors to blend overnight. Reduce recipe in half if desired.

Makes a lot but stores well chilled for a few weeks. Use for salads or any other recipes requiring a ranch dressing.

I have a package that you add to 16 oz. sour cream if your interested.

I have never seen Hidden Valley anywhere in Germany except for the grocery store (Commissary) on US military bases.
But as Katrina said, you can get ranch dressing (ridiculously overpriced too) in Munich at Karstadt.

Blue cheese dressing:

1 part Blue cheese
1 part Roguefort cheese
1 part Mayo for smoothness
Worcestershire sauce, just a dash or two or three
Salt and pepper
Sour cream to cut the sharpness to your desire

Dip wings or celery sticks or whatever.

Bon apetit! (my spell check wants me to change that to "ape tit" laugh.gif

An interesting tidbit about Hidden Valley Ranch dressing.

QUOTE
"...This was a reflection of what might be called the Hidden Valley Ranch principle, in honor of a story that Samson Hsia often told about his years working on salad dressing when he was at Clorox. The couple who owned Hidden Valley Ranch, near Santa Barbara, had come up with a seasoning blend of salt, pepper, onion, garlic, and parsley flakes that was mixed with equal parts mayonnaise and buttermilk to make what was, by all accounts, an extraordinary dressing. Clorox tried to bottle it, but found that the buttermilk could not coexist, over any period of time, with the mayonnaise. The way to fix the problem, and preserve the texture, was to make the combination more acidic. But when you increased the acidity you ruined the flavor. Clorox's food engineers worked on Hidden Valley Ranch dressing for close to a decade. They tried different kinds of processing and stability control and endless cycles of consumer testing before they gave up and simply came out with a high-acid Hidden Valley Ranch dressing — which promptly became a runaway best-seller. Why? Because consumers had never tasted real Hidden Valley Ranch dressing, and as a result had no way of knowing that what they were eating was inferior to the original."
