Sex in a Pot - Spaghetti Cook-off

Hey Guys,

I thought this would be a good excuse for another event. How about a spaghetti cook-off?

It's something just about everyone makes or has a recipe for.

We could set a date and time for a picnic and have everyone bring a pot of their own spaghetti...eat, judge, get fat and happy and have fun.

I think it would be fun to see (taste) everyone's take on this common food. I'm sure it's quite different depending on where you're from.

We can make it a €5 participation fee and the winner get's the money.

Can you actually cook spaghetti so good it's like Sex in a Pot?

Funny, we're having spaghetti tonight. Sauce is already simmering.

Dammit, can't you do this on a weekend? My spaghetti sauce is the final word in aphrodisiaka and - like sex - never turns out the same way twice.

Yeah, I think if you had this on a weekend, it would be superb. I make really finger licking pesto.

Sarabird -- I think a weekend would be the best. Maybe even in Erlangen to be more open to the Bambergers and such.

Oh yeah, and I challenge the lustful goodness of your spaghetti...

hmmm... Wrong, wrong, wrong. Bring pasta in a pot to a picnic? Any pasta that has been more than 5 minutes in a pot before being served is bad pasta.

Actually I agree on that point, pasta must be served at least semi-hot, all the cheese and the sauce dripping...

Sounds like fun, Lexicon! Pity I'm down here in Munich and not in Franconia. I would shamelessly rip off don riina's tips for spaghetti bolognese.

And it doesn't have to be picnic style, you can just do the competition at someone's flat where you have access to a stove.

It could be at a house, or even somewhere with electricity where we could bring crockpots to keep it warm. We could even rent a pavillion at a forest or something..is there maybe something betweem N'berg and Munich?

Combine it with a camping hiking weekend maybe? Bring our food friday evening, get fat, meet each other, then drink beer around a fire, wake up the next morning and do some nature-type stuff.

Lexicon-- Oh geez. I'm sorry, but I can't help but laugh uncontrollably at your mention of beer. I still remember that time about a year-and-a-half ago when you sent me driving around Houston, Texas, to find a six-pack of that beer you love so much (Lone Star, right?). I remember spending six hours driving back to New Orleans for you and you wouldn't even share it with me. I'm afraid if I make you my spaghetti, you'll steal it, hide it, and eat it all... just like with the beer. But to be fair, you can't find that beer outside of Texas.
