Hi, has anyone ever been to the Spanish restaurants Meson Galicia or El Cortijo? Could you recommend one for a big group (15 people). Any idea of the prices there? Neither seem to have a website. Thanks for the help.

Bodega Dali in Schwabing is pretty good. Not sure about the big group part-call and ask.

I don't know about the two places you mentioned, Tara, but I can give you additional info on Bodega Dali : it is indeed a very nice place serving a wide range of delicious tapas. Last time I went I had booked for a party of 10 and it wasn't a problem at all. I called a week ahead, confirmed 2 days beforehand with the final number. It was for a Wednesday though so you may want to give them a bit more notice for a weekend night.
I find the fact that it is in a basement a plus, it has that extra dark, wooden, old place atmosphere to it. Still airy enough though, no worries.
Prices were absolutely reasonable with IIRC a range going from around 4 to 10 euro for the tapas (of varying sizes). Was a few month back though so not quite 100% positive though.
Hope that helps.

I quite like Bodega Dali too man. It's ok. They don't serve proper beer, which really annoys me, but whaddaygonnado, the food is alright, the building itself is a nice place, and all in all, you always have a good time. They get stuff like pata negra in from time to time, which is cool, but their tortilla de patatas makes me want to go into the kitchen, and kill the chef with his own knife. Ups n downs, but on the whole, ups. But avoid their shit tortilla.
Oh, and if anyone wants to contest that, you can't. I used to have a nice little bit of business selling my tortillas to bars in Barcelona, so I'm better than you probably. Nah nah na na naaaah.

Well, tried Bodega Dali last night - based on the recommendations here. Might as well have taken the risk at el Mirador with its sometimes great, sometimes not food. rolleyes.gif
The salad with gambas and mushrooms was good, once we found the teeny tiny gambas (these things made popcorn shrimp look big), the paella was "ok" according to the person eating it (I'm not a big paella expert) but my Puchero - well, what I thought would be more of a casserole (eintopf) with chicken, noodles, pasta and chorizo, was just chicken soup - and the texture of the chicken pieces made me think they were just thrown in at the end, not what I was expecting.
The rioja was good though smile.gif and since the atmoshpere really cool (and the bill was less than than expected) I'd probably try it again for tapas or something. I'm not an expert on Spanish cuisine, but it's not my best dining experience in Munich so far.

Discovered tonight that El Cortijo is gone, there's a new Italian restaurant there now. Quite authentic, lots of courses on the menu, just like a real northern Italian restaurant (they don't do pizza)...
