I'd like to try to get a group together to play a game for fun, just to get some exercise. I know the general impression/opinion Europeans have of the sport but thought maybe there are some other American's in the area wanting to toss around the pigskin. Maybe some others are open minded or willing enough to give it a try?
I was hoping to get something together towards the end of April or first week of May? Perhaps head for drinks afterwards if people can still move

American Touch Football games in Munich

I'm in!!
I've had the urge to play for the last coupla months.
I was also interested in playing flag football, if anyone is interested.
For those who don't know: flag football is similar to touch, but instead of touching, someone has to pull off a flag attached by velcro around the waist. It removes the ambiguity and the "I got you!!" "No, you didn't!!" kind of arguments.

There was a thread on this last year. I would be interested in playing. Who has a ball?

Count me in as well. I'm 25 from Canada and haven't played since Grade 8. Man, I used to be good too! I don't do Toytown too often, so fire me a PM when concrete plans are set.

haha, I haven't played like in 15 years, but I guess this could be fun. I'm up for it.

Hello, I am new to TT and am looking to meet some new people (sports, drinks, movies, etc..) I havent played touch football in 10 years - but I would love to give it a go (we are inviting females here too??). PM me and let me know where/when.

Well we are all in agreement that we're rusty

I have a ball so no problem there. I'm going home next week though and wont be back until April 21st. How about we try to organize a game for either the 28th or 29th of April? The other question I guess is where is the best place to play, which seems to be
English Garden or abouts?
Panama
Mar 22 2007, 3:05 pm
So far the date sounds good to me, but I shall confirm closer to that time.
Englischer Garten seems to be a suitable place to play.

I'm in as well... Would appreciate a PM if/ when final plans are set as well, as I'm not on here too often. Also, is anyone aware of any baseball or softball fixtures in the
English Garden?
Panama
Mar 24 2007, 1:50 am
fixtures? What do you mean? You need a baseball, a bat and an open field. Oh well, and a glove. There's an open field at the
englischer garten, a big one indeed.

I'm also up for some football. Especially if it doesn't interfere with Ultimate. I also have a football, so can bring that. Am also up for just throwing the ball around any time, if anybody doesn't want to wait a month.

(we are inviting females here too??)
This question seems to have been ignored. If 'females' are not properly invited, this could get ugly. Many may head straight for the 'Who's better in bed, Germans or Americans?' thread, and the results will not be nice.

I am also in. As far as women go, I've been playing in a co-rec football league for years and it is a fact that women enhance football!

I was thinking the exact same thing, it would be cool to get a football game going. I'm in for sure when the weather is nice again.

I would also be interested in tossing the ol' pigskin around. Not sure that the date works for me yet, but I'll keep an eye on TT for the details.

there used to be a group who would meet occasionaly last summer to play softball. You might want to use the search button and dig up the old thread to see if anyone is interested.

Last minute, but it's a beautiful day. Anyone want to throw a football around in the
English Garden today? And if not today, then perhaps Monday?
If not, then let this just serve us a bump/reminder for touch football at the end of the month...

Anytime today or Monday works for me. Kinda hard to coordinate last minute for today, though. Maybe early afternoon on Monday? Though I'm still willing to head to the
English Garden today if there's enough interest.

I'd be interested - though it's been years since I last played! I'd also be interested in just throwing it around if there isn't enough interest for an actual game.

Try and line this up after the Ultimate Frizbee...

I'll definitely be at Ultimate this Sunday. I can bring along my football in case there is any interest afterwards.

Okay everyone... I'm back and "ready for some football!"
We had originally discussed this weekend as our Game Day, but perhaps that is too short. I am open for any weekend, maybe Sundays being the better day since shops are closed anyways. As for the question about allowing women to play; its two hand touch, OF COURSE they can play

Seriously, its just a friendly game to get some exercise, throw around the pigskin and meet new people. None of us will be going to the super bowl next year

I unfortunately left my football at home near Austria so hopefully someone has a ball that can play this weekend. I've gone ahead and organized a little signup page so people can register and we have a good idea how many will show.
The only point I'm lacking that we should define (besides who will bring a ball) is where exactly to meet at Englisch Garden? I'm not real familiar with the area so hopefully someone can pinpoint a good spot to meet up.
SIGN-UP HERE TO PLAY THIS SUNDAY - 4/29

Now you've gone and given me a tough decision... Sunday at 2 is
Frisbee time.
I'll probably come, but have to think it through -- any other time, and it'd have been a nobrainer.
I do have two balls of varying size, so if I do come, I'll bring them.
Hmmmm...

Panama
Apr 27 2007, 10:15 am
I'll come along as well. Maybe we could do it a bit earlier/later to accomodate the
frisbee folks?
@Mods
What about that sign-up list that we discussed yesterday? Could we have one of those TT-signups? Thanks
Panama
Apr 27 2007, 10:32 am
Regarding where, I would suggest to go up north in the Englische Garten. It's a bit less crowded over there so there a less chances of hitting someone and more space to play. We could go to the
Hirschau, where the
frisbee takes place also,
marked as 2 in the map. There's a beer garden close by and next to the lake, we can come down after the footbal for some refreshments.

Apr 27 2007, 10:57 am
Does anyone have a ball? We can postpone the game until 4pm to accommodate the
frisbee folks, then maybe
Prijks can bring a ball. Sorry for being unprepared this time, I'm kicking myself for forgetting my ball at home but I will make sure to bring it back to Munich on Tuesday so we won't have to hunt for one in the future.
As Panama mentioned, we are awaiting our own TT signup sheet, so ignore my previous signup website and just give a shout here if you can make it out on Sunday.
Here is a map for where we can meet up (near the parking area and we can just wonder to any nearby open space thats not already in use or go use the frisbee area if they're done)
Click to view attachmentIf anyone wants my mobile for ease, just send me an email or pm.

Apr 27 2007, 11:48 am
Actually, I've decided I'm in regardless of whether you postpone or not.

I've wanted to play for too long.
So I'll be there Sunday with two footballs. We can decide then which size people prefer to play with.
Note: yes I did edit this post.

Hi all - I'm in even though I probably wont be much of an asset to whichever team gets stuck with me!!
Do we have enough people at this point or should I try and recruit some as well?

Feel free to invite more!
To be clear we are meeting at the original time of 1:30pm then? Since it was said we don't need to work around the
Frisbee guys schedule, right?
Given the shape I'm in I sure hope the beer garden isn't too far from where we play, might have trouble moving after our game
I'll check this thread throughout the weekend so if anyone needs additional details, my mobile number, whatever... I'll be around.

I was unaware that an e-mail with merely a link to the discussion forum was an invitation to join
I figured that just meant that Prijks was ditching us
frisbee folks... Anyway, I am planning on frisbee on Sunday, so I guess I'd have to pass. Not only that but I have never played football in my life--I just had my second lesson in throwing
prijks
Apr 27 2007, 3:43 pm
Well, Montypy16, you had mentioned that you wanted to throw the football around some more, so was just showing you you had an opportunity.
L8knight, you can stick with the original time as far as I'm concerned, though there could be more
Frisbee people interested in participating. No way to tell, unless they make themselves heard here...

Apr 27 2007, 3:45 pm
For this weekend we'll keep the original time and discuss it during the game as far as what will work best in the future that we can get a good group together. I look forward to Sunday... GAME ON!

Heading out now for the Friday beer garden to train myself for the post game drinking Sunday
Panama
Apr 27 2007, 3:45 pm
We should just go and play around the same area than the
frisbee people and maybe we can play along for a while and then some of them could join up for the football.
