I saw a banner outside about the Baby Welt Messe this coming weekend. The entry ticket costs €7,50, so I am wondering if anyone knows if this baby fair is worth going if I am looking to buy some regular baby items. Thank you.

I'm not sure you'll be able to get a lot of regular baby items here. I went a couple of years ago and it was more 'hey come and see what's on offer'.
There were a couple of clothes stands and the obligatiry sheepskin rug stand, there were a few clinics/hospitals with stalls and Toyota had one showing off a family car. I seem to remember the police had a stand too.
Lots of info to be had and lots of people getting in the way.
Have fun if you go!
OK, thanks.
A friend of mine wants this
http://www.baybsupplies.net/productlist.asp?idcategory=85 as a present. I thought I may get a good selection at a baby fair, and I can also stock up on regular items for my own baby. I guess I'll just order one from Baby Walz then.
Thank you.

You may be able to find these at the Messe, I guess the best way would be to go and find out.
If not, you could try Baby Reinartz in Gräfelfing.

It's not worth going to if you are only shopping for things for someone else's baby. Some of the stands have merchandise for sale, but most of those are also regular shops or online shops, anyway.
If you are a new parent or soon to be one, it's well worth going to. All the clinics are represented there, and you can pick up lots of information about family-related services, family-oriented holiday hotels, photographers who specialize in children, swim classes, etc. It's gotten bigger and better every year since it started three or four years ago.
Thank you for the advice.

Checked out the Baby Messe this past weekend. The products were mostly ho- hum and I think unless you were pregnant and hadn't bought anything yet, a waste of time. The information sessions certainly didn't seem to be worth the entrance fee, but one helpful hint was that one can rent baby beds etc at
www.babybedarfmieten.de or call 08956822137.
a baby related trade fair makes me think of people trading their babies like a baby swap or something.
I visited the Baby Messe 05.05.07 and found it really worth the 11 euro price (coupon discount for 2) and actually fun to be at. There was lots of information on courses (short presentations and discounted attendence tickets): first help for babies, baby swimming, new kripe opening for which you could sign, etc. Each major clinic in the area had a stall where you could generally meet at least 2-3 midwifes and 1-2 doctors -- invaluable if you are chosing a hospital to deliver your child. Info abends at hospitals are of course helpful, but you generally meet one midwife and one doctor only and not one-on-one; it really helps to chat with more midwifes before one of them ends up delivering you (generally the doctor comes only in the last 10 min in clinics, unless there are complications). It was also easy for me to interview a few midwifes to select one that would visit us at home after the birth. There were free ultrasounds for pregnant women at the Messe, performed by the doctors at the various clinic stalls, which might be fun if you are a public patient who does not get more than 3 ultrasounds free (not always true, depends on you doctor). I liked the info on the breast-feeding meetings held in English in Munich, the diaper service if you choose non-disposable diapers, the free baby magazines, etc. There were also 10-20% discounts of baby clothes (e.g. the natural textiles of Lotties and Pinolino), showcase baby carriers, strollers, high-seats, etc.
