Buying a second-hand network router

Is it worth it?

Hi there,

I am looking at a used router and have no clue what I would be getting myself into.

Can someone tell me if the router in the link below is worth 50 Euros?
Will it be fast enough?
Is it outdated and I shouldn't waste my money?

Thanks a mill in advance,

Tommer

Looks allright but a bit too expensive. For that price you can get the legendary WRT54G from Linksys. Get the Linux version, you can change firmwares to free variants (dd-wrt) then, which offers all kinds of benefits, including the ability to go way beyond the legal limit on transmission power.

One of those should do.

Late response:

btw, I did in the end get one of those and it is great (and powerful) and low-priced.

Thanks PB!
