How to return defective Microsoft software

Sending back a DVD that has a manufacturing fault

Our neighbours thought I could help since I work in "computers" but I don't know everything sad.gif

They bought MS Encarta 2007 from Karstadt last December. They told me the DVD is defective, probably a manufacturing fault and there is a product recall for some batches but Kardstadt wouldn't take it back as too much time passed by. So does anyone have the address of Microsoft Germany where I can send back the DVD and get a replacement?

Thanks
Darkknight
Since there is a Recall on for this product, and it is Ob. defective. Kardstadt are obligated to take it back as it is defective.
If you bought it, tried it, then changed your mind this would be a different story. Find/print off a copy of the recall info from MS
and take it and the software back to Kardstadt for a replacement. (Don't know if they'll give you a refund, but they prob. won't)

If that still doesn't work, give Microsoft a call at the following, or have Kardstadt do it for you to confirm the recall.

Microsoft Germany - 0800 4007400 (German) or 05241 1795049 (English)

Or

Microsoft Deutschland GmbH
Konrad-Zuse-Strasse-1
D-85716 Unterschleißheim
Tel: +49 (0) 89 3176-0

And if that don't work, walk it back to MS directly.. (S1 Freising/Flughafen Stop: Unterschleißheim)

Thanks for the quick answer. I'll give it a go. I'm not sure if there was an actual product recall as I'm going by what my neighbour said, but the DVD is definitely defective.

I'm not based in Munich so I won't go that far for my neighbours.

I don't think there was a product recall... I never heard anything about it, and I couldn't find anything on the web.
