Advice on public transport ticket options

I noticed that in the NRW there is the VRR and VRS transport systems, does anyone know if I could purchase a monthly transport ticket that covers both regions. I am planning to spend the rest of the year in Düsseldorf and will rely on public transport to get around. Also should I purchase travel health insurance, or should I get something from a local company?

VRS applies to Koeln, and VRR the area around Duesseldorf, so it depends on where you are planning on going. Also, there are different zones within the VRR, for instance, I work in Ratingen which is in zone B in comparison to Duesseldorf so I have to get a more expensive monthly ticket.

www.vrr.de has all the info really if you can speak German.
