How do I do this "self-describing" thing? I've got no idea! Well...I'm new to this Toytown website, and I wonder if my profile I just edited is being shown automatically when I write into this forum?, anyway

I'm a bit shy to come alone to these meetups, I'd rather meetup with someone in person! and then probably go along together, I know this sounds silly...but...hmmmm! Anyone out there? be around 25-30yrs.!!!

ah, just go to one of the meetups. as soon as you say "hi, I'm new", someone will prop a beer in your hand and voila, friends you never knew you wanted to have. if you cannot take this one small step, then be prepared to meet some wackos if you meet them up alone.

i also put an age limit on people i want to hang out with. anyone born in the 80's or later could not possibly be intellectually stimulating enough
Says someone who was born just 17 years ago... (on your profile Luv) - not that I don't fully agree with you though.

just go, come out of your shell, and meet some new people, this is a great first step, now, turn off the computer, get ready, and head out to one of the many events tonight. The people are always warm and welcoming.

what? People are willing to meet you at the event, but you have got to get to the event. We have all been there, attending an event without knowing somebody or anybody, but did it. You can do it to.

Apr 27 2007, 4:43 pm
Shahara, I don't think you're going to get somebody to meet up with you in advance, because you're a bit shy. You're just going to have the bite the bullet and come along to an event. Or try the
German English Association on Friday evenings. Its full of Germans really keen to speak English.

If you check the Sunday chill-out thread, you'll see that Panama has in fact volunteered to meet you on the way to that event - and I can vouch for him, he's a perfect gentleman. Just a thought though: if you only want to arrive with someone to ease introductions, why does their age matter so much? Coupled with the photo, that's what might give people the impression you're looking for a date. People of all ages attend the chill, for example - quite a few of us are 25-30 but by no means all.

I just had to respond because I am chuckling at the thought of a quiet and normal (and I'm sure sweet-don't get me wrong) girl going to meet up with someone with Rum Bottle as a pseudonymn! But, hey honey, whatever floats your boat. I have not yet been to a TT meeting, either. But will try tomorrow, alone, too. If not, get your nerve up, a good outfit (I'm an image consultant-so if ya need help-no prob) and go for it. It'll be fun and you'll be relaxed after a beer. Though I, too, am slightly older than you. You know 30 somethings ex-desperate housewives are a lot of fun, too.

Hey Lynn,
thanks girl, maybe we could meet up and go together!!!

I think I know with whom I'd go and whom not!!!, it's just that, I haven't got any friends wanting to communicate in english! so no one would join, but I'd want to! it's just, well...shyness, if I go out, I only go with a bunch of ppl. or my best mate, otherwise I'd be way too insecure...don't ask me why! need to really work on that!

Lynn it is a reasonable suggestion. It is just that I usually use weird name while signing up in a new forum, and then go on to chnage it if i am planning to stick around. I happened to like this one, but was not able to change the name. I suppose I must start all over again with a new name. Anyway I suggested to her to meet up at
the ARC, which is usually frequented by Toytowners and since she is a srilankan, she might want to watch tomorrows match.

Chérie, I will let ya know tomorrow if I go to the chill out thing on Sunday. I probably will. If it'd make you feel better, I can wait for you outside the place so you will have made contact with s.one so you don't have to actually present yourself if that is too much stress.
And to Rum Bottle- I really think the name sounds quite fun. I wouldn't mind meeting the person behind a name like that. No offense taken, I hope. My pseudonym could be Malibu Bottle...gee, why isn't it? Actually sounds like more fun than Lynn...

My name is Kristina. I grew up in the States, but lived half my life in Paris, France. But enough boring details. I'm a chick and am actually just nice (you really do sound nervous), but definitely not in the "normal" category (I hope). I am more on the wild side. And also look forward to meeting new people. I have a serious job during the day (yes, fashion can be serious, though the prices are usually crazy) and want to laugh during my free time. Why am I telling you all this? I think I just had too much white wine. I should have had my usual Malibu-Orange and basta.

what's with all the pleasantries?
shahara. you may hate not knowing people and crowds etc, but just suck it up and go. you'll be fine you might be uncomfortable for a few minutes, but then it ends and you're over it. also, if you don't try to combat it you'll hate meeting people and groups the rest of your life and that just sounds like it'll lead to pathetic existence later.

Oh yeah, like that is not the most boring thing in the world. How many tea breaks will they take? Could the players be anymore preppy looking in their little white outfits? I hope they get their overs and unders all mixed up and both sides are out and in at the same time. That would make it more interesting.
