I would just like to announce that the next great Gourmet evening will be held next Friday, 4th May at the Gallo-Nero restaurant in Markt Schwaben.
As yet I haven't finalised the whisky list or the menu with Camillo, but I will do this over the weekend and post the final decision here. However, I assure you that it will be another great selection of 6 whiskies and a superb four course meal.
After the success of one or two dishes from the last event, I may even repeat some this time.

I have just composed a list of whiskies for this evening which I will discuss with Camillo at the restaurant this afternoon.
Pending his acceptance and menu design, they will probably be:
1. Bowmore Legend
2. Glenrothes 1991
3. Ardbeg Still Young
4. Glenlivet French Oak (I want that duck / sweet potato again!)
5. Benrinnes
6. Macallan 10y Cask Strength

Just to confirm, as usual, the price will be €48 per person including all food and whisky.
My whisky club members pay only €43
I will list the full menu later today, after speaking with Camillo.

Having spoken to Camillo over lunch, he has once again designed a menu par-excelllence for Friday's Gourmet evening.
Aperitif
Bowmore Legend (a young Bowmore, reputedly 8 years old, with hints of iron, leaf, fern and an earthy sweetness)
First Course
Glenrothes 1991 (Spicy fruits, red & black pepper and an aftertaste of grassy bracken)
Fennel Salad with turkey strips and pink pepper
Second Course
Ardbeg Still Young (The first whisky distilled under Glenmorangie ownership reaches 8 years old and shopws great Ardbeg character of peat, smoke and Ileach power)
Smoked cheese with an asparagus salad and pumpkin-seed oil
Third Course
Glenlivet French Oak 15years old
Lamb in a herb crust, served with green beans and potatoes
Dessert
Benrinnes 1972-96 "Connoisseur's Choice"
Dry and assertive with liquorice, aniseed, vanilla, bitter chocolate and hints of smoke
Strawberries with dark chocolate and green pepper
After Dinner
Macallan 10y Cask Strength
The event is held at the Gallo Nero restaurant in the hotel Georgenhof, Markt Schwaben and is literally just 3 minutes walk from the S-Bahn door.
