Ok. Daft question, but anyway...

When I lived in Munich we had a large VB tea pot warmer in white ceramic that you put tealights in and stand your teapot on to keep it warm. It was also large enough to stand a small casserole dish or dinner plate on. I'm looking for something similar but don't know what it might be called in German. Can anyone help? Pretty please.

Cheers

Not a daft question at all.
You're looking for a Stövchen. Cute, eh? The German word Rechaud also means a warmer, but is usually a larger one suitable for dishes.

Stoevchen is the right word. Even in some areas in Germany they are not aware of that word.

Now my mom is a tea fanatic and she has these teapot warmers in every brand, whether it be Rosenthal, Villeroy and Boch etc. They are called "Teewärmer" in German.
