Hello everyone! I am a new member. I found this site Because I am trying to do the same as TRENT13. Yet i have found an easy way to live in Deutschland and not have to even speak Deutsch. A little background info on me. I am American i have a father in the US military. He's retiring and moving back to the states really soon. I live in Stuttgart. Im 18. I don't want to go back to the states. basically TRENT13 if you live in a town with American Military base's you can get a job working for a company called AAFES. AAFES is a large company that is nonprofit. You can easily get a job working with other Americans or Germans. If you go to there website it will give you a lot of other useful info http://odin.aafes.com/employment/default.asp . Im applying there rite now. If you get a job then you will have access to there stores(which are tax tax free and cheaper then the prices in America). That is the info i have found myself. If anything is incorrect let me know. I am trying to find a place to live in the area of Stuttgart. If anyone has a small cheap place that they can rent just let me know. Does anyone have any advice on living in Germany? Because i have never lived on my own in any country. i hope i was some help to you TRENT13.

I am in a similar situation. I want to travel to Germany and find work as a Spanish teacher. I am a native Spanish speaker, born in Ecuador. I have 5 years of teaching experience (private, one-to-one classes).

I wonder if I can get a work permit based on the fact that I am a native speaker and my German competitors cannot match that requirement.

If you can find some employer in germany who is willing to hire you as a spanish teacher (and pay a decent wage by german standards), they would probably accept the fact that you are better prepared to teach spanish than most germans. But Im no expert in "Aufenthaltsrecht", maybe someone else can add some personal experience...
