No, Tiggi is a whizz at getting them to take back the rank concoction they foolishly tried to pass off as Irish coffee and provide a semi-drinkable alternative!

Never made an Irish coffee in my life... that's what I have Irish friends for!
Anyway, why order coffee when there are cocktails on the menu?! I'm looking forward to Thursday night!

so guess I'll tell the restuarant to go for 15-20, and that'll give us a bit of Luft for a couple of extras.
Seeing that right now there are about 15 people signed up, I guess you are still on time.

After hemming and hawing for about two hours Scogs finally admitted that he does not like Maroccan food. His problem, he has to stay at home with Haggis Junior and watch her eat tunafish
casserole. I, however, will be there.

Thank you again for organizing and daring to reserve the correct number of places. My chicken with pickled lemons was unusual and refreshing, the bean soup had just the right spicyness.

Thanks Ruapehu for your hard work in putting this together and the endless changes of final numbers. It was interesting to try - the food was average and the service was slow but the company was great... Apart from the fact they tried to overcharge me by €10 it was a fun evening though to be honest its not a restaurant I would bother to return to. You win some you lose some and the important thing was that it was a good group of people who enjoyed themselves (or they seemed to look happy

)~!!!I will organise a French evening in due course but only once you are back from your travels!!! thanks again for your hard work ..

ditto everything FranB said (apart from being overcharged... and organising a French night, though I do look forward to that). Thanks Rooooo (i know I promised to get it right, but was sneakily planning on writing it down before I posted... but forgot.)
The food was disappointing. Not terrible, but lacking in the flavour that should make it so special. The veg were overcooked too. Service was indeed very slow and there were some serious harissa issues (which was passable, but too salty)
PS @ Panama, sorry for nearly killing you, must remember not to do that again.

Apr 27 2007, 8:50 am
yup, I agree with the other comments...my food was fine, but by no means outstanding. But I always enjoy giving a place a try...next time somewhere else.
The evening was in any case loads of fun, and the somwhat smaller group or around 13, meaning we could all sit at the one table, wa really nice as I had the feeling that I talked a bit to everyone who was there.

I agree with what others have already said, food was edible, but bland and by no means excellent. However it was a very good night with very good company.
On a random note, in case you still don't know it is possible to cycle
through the
Theresienwiese.
On a second random note, if for some reason someone lends you their bike and when you try to brake the brakes don't work, try backpedalling. If that doesn't work then you're screwed and can seriously think about jumping from the bike before going all the way into that nice shop that you wanted to visit.

agree with the other comments,no flavour, overcooked vegs but was worth a try just to know never to come back. with the bill explained to the waiter i had 3 x0.4 helle which he charged me 3.10 for each one and 1x 0.5 helles which he charged me 2.90

. anyway thanks for organising ruapehu i enjoyed the evening

Serious opinion of the food? I should have ordered couscous.
It was an experiment, which from a culinary point of view failed. If it hadn't been able to fail, it wouldn't have been an experiment. And I like experimenting with food.

I had a horrible stomach ache at 1am but blame that on the nature of the bean soup, not on any lack of quality.

Erm, I wouldn't be too sure... it was very bland, though the meat was nice and tender. Thought the food was very ordinary really, though sarabyrd's main sounded nice. But it was interesting to try somewhere new and we still had a good evening. Thanks, ruapehu.

Well as you know, I thought the food was 'orrid. Overcooked veggies, done to a soggy mush chicken and if that's what couscous normally tastes like then that's off the list of edible substances as far as I'm concerned! The waitress seemed to have trouble remembering more than 2 drinks at a time and for some reason seemed to be rushed off her feet, even though the place was more or less empty. Apart from the obviously pleasant company, the only saving grace was that they know how to serve alcohol frei beer, ice cold and in a proper helles glass.
This restaurant will be marked down as an experience, one of which I hope I never have to repeat!
Can we go back to the Thai place again please, that was jummy!
Never mind, the sun is shining and I'm off to the friday beer garden later, where I shall drink real beer and no doubt have a properly cooked chicken!
Thanks for organising Ruapehu, sorry I didn't like the food, but you weren't to know.

well, I had the bean soup too and didn't have problems in the night...maybe my stomach is better trained to cope?
Anyway, I now have a great idea for if I want to have a romantic evening with some guy, undisturbed by you lot gawking!! (could of course backfire if the guy finds the culinary experience as enjoyable as you all did...).
alright, alright, due to popular demand, signs from lurking non TTers and my own desire for an Erfolgserlebnis, my next TT dinner will be Thai again..but not likely till after my next holiday
