So, Where would you buy a holiday home?

Not too expensive, not too big and not mor e than 5 hrs travel time from Munich.

What's not too expensive? Do you want sea, mountains ...? I'd think about slovenia.

Actually if you could get enough of people together, there is a almost a complete village full of houses to be renovated for sale somewhere in north Italy. You could have your own little Toytown or start a hippie colony. I just can't find the link at the moment.

have you considered Istria in Croatia? There is a really nice town called Rovino (also spelt Rovinj and Rovini) and you can buy apartments in that area. The drive there is fairly easy these days and is under 5 hours.

There's loads near Parma in the mountains, half an hours drive from the sea...that said...stay away DAMN TOURISTS!
