The bands are the best that Munich has to offer, plus some non-local acts and bigger name surprises. All are carefully selected by The Adventure Club staff. The concept is different: the stage is already set up... bands play two rounds each instead of a traditional opening and headlining band. This month's bands are:
madbomberinlove (Munich)
A band brought together by insane coincidences, with members coming from Australia/Germany/USA and Romania! The collision happened in summer 2004, when the guys met up for a jam in an old, raunchy studio. Genre-bending to be sure, the band describes themselves as country / rock / punk / singer-songwriter. With an energetic and genuine sound full of unexpected turns, this band is "absolutely weird and gorgeous".

The Nine (Munich)
Filling in at the last minute for previously-booked band 'Travel Pussy' (opener for Ben Kweller and more recently, Maximo Park in the Atomic Cafe), The Nine are a band that I've wanted to book for some time. Sometimes fate just brings things together... Having won the Feierwerk "Sprungbrett", having won them a deal to record a full-length CD in a professional studio, The Nine brings a blend of post-punk and (not so) hard-core energy to the Adventure Club stage. This is the last Munich gig for The Nine until the Fall 2007, so don't miss them!

Shoot Charlie (Sweden)
60's, psychadelic, happy music, sure to bring a smile on everyone's faces. Shoot Charlie certainly bring a different element to the Adventure Club and with the weather we're having, it seems to fit perfectly. The band has released two CD EP´s and one 7" EP and even filmed a video in England which has been played on the TV several times. Shoot Charlie is now in action recording their debut album which will be released later this year on Plastilina Records. In the meantime, they are touring Europe and will visit Munich for the first time tonight at The Adventure Club.

Mathilde (Munich)
"The future of Munich pop", allegedly according to Dirk Wagner of m94,5. Well, maybe they really are. Mathilde produces sugar-sweet guitar pop music. The secret, however lies in the band's melodies - the kind that stick with you after the show, and into next week. Perhaps you'll even find yourself singing along with the band tonight at The Adventure Club.

So all in all, a cool, laid-back Sunday evening with lots of music. In the first round, bands play for 10 minutes (around 2 songs). In the second round, bands play for 20 minutes (around 4-5 songs). No waiting for the stage to be set up. Pure, local, music. m94,5 DJs finish off the night afterwards... nice way to end a weekend.
Come check it out!
