I, Claudia follows the precocious 12-year-old Claudia as she finds refuge from her parents’ recent divorce in the basement of her school. As she opens up her vulnerable “pre-teen�? psyche to the audience, she relates her experiences, both hilarious and heartfelt. The character revealed is, like many girls of her age, funny, intelligent and wounded by the numerous pitfalls that populate the difficult journey of discovery to adulthood. Along the way we meet her absentminded grandfather Douglas, who wouldn’t mind taking another spin around the block; her father’s new fiancée Leslie, who wants everything just perrrrrfect for her wedding day; and the immigrant school caretaker Drachman, former artistic director of the National Theatre of Bulgonia. A solo actress plays all four characters in mask in this delightfully funny and poignant play. Written by award-winning playwright Kristen Thomson and directed by award-winning director Paul Lampert, veteran actress Elisa Moolecherry deftly takes the audience on a roller coaster ride of emotions. For those of you who saw The Vagina MonloguesThe actress who performed the piece entitled, My Angry Vagina is the same one staring in I, Claudia. She's a brilliant performer with comedic timing. A must wee, ahem! see!

The actress starring in this one woman play is fabulous...I had the priviledge of working with her in The Vagina Monologues and I was blown away by her talent! I will be going tomorrow night if anyone would like to join me...maybe even meet up for a drink or two before? PM me if you are interested.

I am going with the writing group and PET language school. Do you know a good place close to the Amerika haus to have a drink?

I was there yesterday evening. I liked it very much, the actress was really good !
Just one thing I didn't understand: who was the woman at the end collecting things and tears in the basket?

I was also at this - it was fantastic!

The end featured Drachman (the caretaker) telling a Bulgovian story (fable) that he was told as a child and that he also told his son. The girl in the story with the basket was not a character of the play itself, but a character of the story he was telling.

I just saw the morning show and thought the actress was fantastic. She also had to contend with a bunch of pesky, chatty kids and she did so with aplomb. For those of you who missed it, it's coming back in September and is a great show well worth going to.

Looks like this is running again but produced by the BeMe theater at Tamstheater in Schwabing.
