Hi!
I'm new to TT (although not new to Munich – 4 years now here),
wonderful web site! I really enjoyed browsing through the chat forum.
I was wondering if sometimes any of you meet for lunch break, I'm kind a fed up of having lunch in the company cantina (which stinks by the way

).
If not do you have suggestions for a good lunch place in the neighborhood of
Schwabing where to meet nice folks like you?

Neuhausen but now you live in
Schwabing. ..

try the café called Café in the Türkenstrasse, or Café News, on the corner of, let me think, Amalien. and Schelling. - you can browse some foreign papers for free and splash out on a foreign mag, if you're feeling generous with yourself
(but do note that most of the foreign press there is for sale, as the staff will point out to you crossly if you take liberties)

Doh! See what happens when you type and run? I meant where
in Schwabing, not where it is.

If you work in
Schwabing and don't care for the company casino, you must work for the same company I do. Don't get me wrong, the food isn't bad and you can't beat the price, but I'd love to eat out once in a while. Count me in if you can name a time and place.

Cadu (Cafe an der Uni), or Schall&Rauch is nice too. I'd be up for it as well.
Wirtshaus zur Brezn is always great...don't know if it would be as cost effective as Cadu...

Wirtshaus zur Brezn would do for me.
I propose then Friday (27.Aug.2004), 12 o'clock . So far I count: Badger, Showem, Upquark, me
More joining in?

I'd love to have lunches with new people, as I'm new in town and new to Toytown - but you all sound like young single blokes - am i competely wrong - anyway - I'm a girl and although I can eat curry and drink pints I'm not sure I want a blind date with a load of boys!!! Are you allowed to reveal your identities a bit more?!?
Or do any females out there want lunches too? Am I being sexist/mean/rude/girlie - I'm not honestly!

Sally, check the profiles. That will sometimes tell you what someone's gender is. Anyways, most of the TT boys are nice, clean-cut, upstanding young men who your father would approve of.
A couple are raving lunatics, but on average you'll do okay.

well, if as of end september (back in town+TT then) there's a raving lunatics alternative lunch-stammtisch to the one pete964's got in mind (lady raving-loonies incl.), keep us posted.

Just got an SMS from Pete, letting me know that lunch today is off. He's in a meeting with a bunch of stiffs and doesn't know when he'll get out. I can't make it either, so we'll try again soon to lunch. All raving lunatics with time for a midday meal will be welcomed.

not sure I understand what you think "I had in mind".
Monster-Raving-Luni ? no problem with me! I usually do not rave and lunate simultaneously though!
cheers

I'd like to get together after the first week of Sept as I'll be a free-er woman then anyway. So loonies or not I'll wait and see if lunch beckons again. Ta.

fair enough, I took the liberty of assuming that you were looking fwd to regular luncheons with the kind of TTs showem describes further up.. but I'll give you that, a dash of raving lunacy can add pizzazz to any old meal.

Not a problem! Besides my father always approved of my sister's raving luni clean-cut nice friends. So did I by the way!
Other than that it did not work out this week. Too bad but there's time ahead! Next week I am in New Orleans (
by the way if anyone needs something quick from the US, PM me and I will deliver as long as legal to carry and reasonable to carry) , then I will try again. Maybe PIZZA, oder?
cheers,
Pete

hey, New Orleans sounds cool... I'm off to Athens myself for a couple of weeks, so I'll probably go quiet for a while... but the combination of CCRL (=clean-cut raving lunatics) sounds interesting
don't know about pizza, but enjoy cajun cuisine over there.
