Seeing as how Friday is a holiday and the weather is supposed to pick up, let's meet up at the Chinesischer Turm for a few Maß, Brezn and a picnic - pot luck style, bring enough to feed yourself and a couple others. I volunteer garlic butter and potato salad!
PM me for my cell phone number so you can find TT at the Turm.
How to get there:
MVG: Bus 54 + 154 stop Chinesischer Turm (in the middle of the Garden, you can't miss it), streetcar 17 Tivolistrasse (you should see the entrance to the garden from the stop), U-Bahn 3/6 Giselastrasse (follow the crowd)
Beer-Monster
Sounds a great idea.
Allershausen
Hmm that sounds like an idea, especially as I've just seen this:

Hmmm does 2pm give me enough recovery time from the Escobar on thurs night ? huh.gif

Yeah, probably biggrin.gif
sharpe
I am in as well, just where is Chinesischer Turm ?
Gen
I could be in, mal sehen.
Lassie
I could be persuaded to pop in for a swift half.
Gen
please come lassboy, I haven't seen you in ages.

Is that enough? If not I'll ask more later, but I'm off to the bookshop... anyone want some 2005 New Yorkers, I have to get rid of them Saturday as we've read them all. But I could bring them to the beergarden Friday instead.

Sounds a good idea. Can't confirm right now but I hope I can make it.

I plan to get as drunk as possible, as often as possible avoiding all Italians for fear of committing murder.

Don't know where, don't know when though.

You have herewith been persuaded.
Carm
I am heading out to Otterfing for brunch, so, I will, what time I get back.

It's like an automated response, lad. "Can't say for definite" or "I'll probably be late if I can make it at all". Yea or nah or say nowt, tis easier that way.
Tiggi
Well, I'm guilty of it too sometimes. It bumps threads and shows support... not that this one needs it! Can be a good thing though.
Oma Stelzbok
Yea? ph34r.gif
koubiak
For the one who wants to move their booty after the picnic, you can join for a volleyball game !

Volleyball game during the Easter break

Ok, now that we have a crowd and a half, let's organize food. As I said, I will bring garlic butter and potato salad. And I am sure I have tons of paper plates and plastic forks and knives somewhere so that's taken care of. Anyone else bringing goodies?

Beer-Monster
Are you allowed to eat your own food at the beergarden, or are you eating in the park first ?

Could bring an Easter Egg wink.gif
Oma Stelzbok
MMMMMMMmmm, was just at the Tower for lunch. The chicken wings were excellent! ph34r.gif

@ Beer-monster: no you cannot slag off your old eggs on us by dyeing them and saying Happy Easter! tongue.gif

Are you allowed to eat your own food at the beergarden,

Yes you can eat your own food, just not your own drinks, this is the case for all Munich Beergardens.

Beer-Monster
Thats good. May just have a liquid lunch of just beer anyway wink.gif
Kat
People are freaking me out by saying that the beer-gardens will be closed tomorrow in addition to the no dancing-singing crap. I don't remember this being the case, but it's not always beer-garden weather in April, so I may have just failed to notice? unsure.gif I asked my (German) colleague, but he's a smart-ass and would only chide me for my lack of an appropriately somber mood on the day Jesus was crucified. rolleyes.gif
Jack
Beer-gardens will be open, no dancing though tongue.gif Dunno why it's called good friday though if everyone has to be miserable.

You should of said you wanted to toast his memory, that's going to be my excuse! smile.gif
Uncle Nick
I'll bring some Semmeln and things to put on/in them.
thetagirl05

bluedave
Gotta go if Fran's going . . . wink.gif

Am I the only person who hates the chinese tower with a passion? It's the most over-priced crap beer garden in the region...

So, um...I guess what I'm trying to say is...I'm not going...*cough*

Probably not, otherwise it would even be busier than it is on a regular sunny day...

I think the Seehaus not even a mile away is more expensive...

So its just the price that puts you off? It really is not a BAD beergarden. A bit tarmacky in the middle. But at the fringes its quite normal. And it attracts some quite interesting people.
It is open when other beergardens did not get organised in time. It has a kids play area. Although that has a back exit (to let toddlers out!) And the pfand (deposit) is a bit stupid. But you can still have a great time there.

Incidentally, whichever beergarden is your favourite, you will always find someone on Toytown that HATES it!

Me? I hate them all. But I will still TEST them regularly to see if they are improving!
Lassie
i'm out, stuck working. sad.gif

have fun kids smile.gif
Jack
Hmmm,. Will I? Should I?
jayhay
We're planning a spontaneous game of Ultimate Frisbee in the English Gardens near the Chinese Tower at 2pm if anyone fancies joining in before heading to the beer garden.
pootle
Will probably stick my head in for half an hour.. but wont be stopping long.
sarabyrd
Garlic butter and potato salad up to usual standard. Gratuitous creamed cheese with horseradish and spring onions thrown in. Lots of knives, forks and plates plus normal mustard and hot mustard.
