Thursday night out - 5.Apr.2007

Hello Everyone,
Since it is Easter this week and Friday is a holyday we - the Friday Beergarden lot - will not be meeting on Friday but Thursday 5th instead, come to think of it we won’t be meeting in a beergarden either.

This weeks’ venue is the Mexican Cocktail Bar called Escobar

Details: Ian and I and several others will be there from 7pm.

Ooh, tempting! Cocktails at Escobar I mean, not Captain Ridiculous in his blue dress. (Although I'm tempted to go along just to see that.) Only problem is, I'd have to cancel the gym. Decisions, decisions... JennyL, are you reading this? I need your help. Please tell me what I should do. You are always so wise in such matters.

Easy, Green Tea. Get off the u-bahn/s-bahn one stop early (i.e. Rosenheimerplatz) and walk (brisky, of course) to the Escobar. Workout complete. If that doesn't cut it and you're really feeing guilty, you could try to match bluedave in lifting glasses. It'd give your arm a good workout.

Jenny, you're a genius! See, I can now spend the evening knocking back cocktails and still have a shining halo!

So that's the arms and shoulders sorted. Now I just need to think of some workouts for all the other body parts I need to exercise, that would be appropriate for a cocktail bar...

hmmm... well, considering it will probably end up being a bar hop, you'll get some legwork in there walking from one pub to the next. And if you've been out with me before, you might be aware that I have a habit of dancing on tables and whatnot after a few too many cocktails , so if you keep up with me, there's a good chance you'll have some leg workouts there as well.

Well I was going to be there anyway, but if there was any suggestion of a possible no-show, that has now been thrown out of the window!

I just checked their web page, thursday nights are Sex on the Beach for 4Euros! And still happy hour til 9!

Seems like all your problems are solved.

EDIT: I should be more careful what I posting after a few beers and a Wednesday curry!

I think they are 9 euro there. Not that I know the price of every bar in Munich, but I do get out alot.

Just wondering what "happy hour" actually means? I know the term, but what does it entail at this particular establishment?

Mook- happy hour is generally half price cocktails, as the are not cheap here, so we chug on happy hour then sip the rest of the evening.

M-hmm. I have a hard time following this guideline. I remember the cocktail night at Tacos y Tequila (well, ok- I don't really remember it- but I've been told about it) I had 3 jumbo cocktails and it all went downhill from there.

Let's just see what the evening brings.

I think bluedave was anxious to get out and have a few drinks- he will certainly be easily persuaded to get there a bit early. I can't be there before 7.

Just ask the bar staff to point you to the table with a bunch of English-speaking raving loonies reserved under the name of "President Clinton". Shouldn't be too hard to miss. See you later maybe?
