Curry at Taj Mahal

fancy a good curry tonight .The curry wednesday night was At the Taj mahal(neuhausen) some time ago and the curry was very good . I was thinking of going 8 pm. Afterwards we could meet up with the wedenesday currynight crowd at the muddy boot or whereever

Not quite well enough, but the Taj Mahal is definately a good alternative to the Maharaja!

I thought the first curry of the month had to be at the sponsor's gaff ?

Are we going back on this by changing the venue? I've never been to the Taj Mahal, so I'd like to try a curry there sometime :-P

The first "official" curry night of the month is at the Maharaja, but I've not had a good curry there for a while which is why I would go somewhere else if I was well enough.

I thought my Lamb Vindaloo there was really good - but I've only been once. Can't speak for anyone else though.

It's difficult to tell whether or not the anti-Maharaja feeling is just a lot of winging, I have had mixed experiences in most Indians except a very few.
I recon that it should be possible to petition the big cheese into swapping the sponsor ship over to the Taj (or somewhere else), I think they are interested in sponsoring (REF Lurker Mark) and I think Editor Bob will consider a move away from Maharaja, provided it's a permanent move and a consensus can be reached about where we go.
My only interest in writing this post is having a good Wednesday curry and reasonble size group.

I'm well aware that as soon as a matter like this is opened for debate there will end up being unhappy people since in the words of the great Bob Dylan "you cant please all the people all the time", (he was quoting someone else at the time)

i don't think it is just winging. i used to be a cn regular (now i only go once a while) and it is pretty boring to go to the same restaurant every month especially when the cooking is not above average.

Just got in to Munich, and am thinking about coming out for curry tonite, just wondering which restaurant it will be at? or are there "rival factions" : )

Mook32- no rival fractions, just people tired of the same stuff. Mahraja has been a sponsor for over a year now for once a month, that leaves us only 3 other weeks to try all the other places in Munich.
I personally don't like Maharaja, and the Taj, is just okay, definately not worth the trip across the city for me.

Well I guess you will just have to wait for your Mini eggs : )
So, has a restaurant been decided upon?

@Mook32: I think you'll find people at both places, the "official" Munich curry night at the Maharaja, the other one at the Taj Mahal.
