As my previous post was possibly a little too vague, I would like to re-advertise the idea of a TT night out at Mongos Mongolian reataurant his Thursday starting at 7:30pm. Can make it later if needed.
The restaurant offers either an a la carte menu or a buffet for €21,90 per head. With the buffet you can go back as many times as you want to the selection of meats, sauces and vegetable to create your own combinations which are then cooked for you and brought to the table. Have heard good things about the place but haven't been myself yet.
They have a website
hereSo please let me know if anyone is interested and I will handle the logisitics.

I might be interested, but I have to say that is one crap website. If you don't know what a mongolian buffet is about you won't find out from there.

I've been here a few times, it's nice for a group night out as with all the to and fro to the buffet you get to mingle more than at many dinners out. The early start is a good idea as towards the end of the night they stop replenishing the good stuff like seafood and roast cashews.
With the buffet option, you tell the waitress what sauce you want and she marks this on a little board with your (big) bowl on it... then off you go to take your fill at the buffet, leave it at the grill for the sauce to be added and for it to be cooked... oddly I can't remember if they bring it to the table or if you wait for it there. I've been to other Mongolian BBQs in other cities and I would say the selection of food here is pretty average - not stunningly exciting (or particularly Mongolian I suspect) but very good and it's decent value.

Anyway, no idea what the food is like but the mens toilet is excellent and an ideal stop for those schlepping Glühwein towards
Sendlinger Tor.
Irrelevant I know, but it's never stopped anybody on this forum before.
Mod me.

why would you use a men's toilet to schlepp glühwein? Wouldn't it taste yacky afterwards?

@MadAxeMurderer: How much more information do you need? Their cute animation even guides you through the whole process of arriving, ordering, choosing and getting your food. Or is the information that you assemble your own bowl of food from the selection of meat, fish, veg and so on, choose your marinade and then wait at your table till it's brought to you cooked somehow insufficient?

Considering that this is a chain restaurant it looks fairly exciting. I will confer with Scogs and possibly sign up later today.

Glühwein was being schlepped internally and had served it's purpose. (and Glühwein tastes yacky anyway)
The smells emenating from the buffet were quite interesting but I didn't have time to stop and graze.

Not wishing to alienate anyone who wishes to talk about Schlepping but could that discussion perhaps move to its own thread and anyone interested in going for neo-Mongolian pig out this Thursday say hello.

Any others? If the venue is not that appealing then please suggest alternatives.

Well, it should be, so far thare are three people coming, not bad at all for a non-regular event planned for a Thursday night with less than 4 days of notice.

Seafood certainly doesn't sound very Mongolian.

I'd be interested to give this place a try though, but can't make it tomorrow.

Scogs and I second and third that sentiment. I am sick and tired of being sick!

I've been here twice, not overly impressed, but I think it's just because I mixed the ingredients wrong

You go sit at a table, when the waiter/waitress comes, say if you want the buffet, or all you can eat buffet. she asks what sauce you want. Then you go to the buffet with a bowl and pile in ingredients which you want the cook to cook. They only do stir fry I think. Quick tip - don't combine seafood and beef and chicken and and and.. it tastes fecking awful mixed up together! There was a good choice, iirc even kangaroo or ostrich meat? It was a while ago, can't remember. Then you dump your bowl next to one of the chefs and go sit down, then it's brought to you when it's done.

Ok. final call.
Sadly, due to an overwhelming lack of interest, unless I get a couple more names then I think I will knock this one on the head.
