Wot, no hangover? After 1 Snakebite, 5 newly invented cocktails (still haven't got a name), 2 (large) El Diablos and a glass of wine and I haven't got a hangover! cool.gif
Timmeh
Cheers Harry & Jason for a wicked night out. My head is in all sorts of trouble right now...I really did my best to drink the place dry. God knows what happened but it was kinda daytime when I left. Good luck to you both and to the new owner
sparty
Looking at the fact that there were many TT'ers trying to drink the place dry, I was wondering how badly your hangover is...

Just woke up, slept through two phonecalls and having a terrible headache. Wasn't taken home by the beer scooter though, that's a big upside of it all.
Yeti
Good night out, not to be recommended on a regular basis though. The phrase "flat rate boozing" was bandied about. It could catch on.

Thanks to Harry, Jason and their excellent bar staff.
Yeti
I think a lot of the particpants haven't surfaced yet or are maintaining radio silence due to an allergic reaction to loud noises
wahoo
Much to my surprise, I am feeling great...despite the sambuca shots!

Now, I actually need to be productive today but I keep hearing the beer garden calling my name...
thefirelane
I did my best to get my money's worth, even though I showed up late. No hangover though, I feel super this morning... err afternoon smile.gif
Carm
I feel like crap! Whose idea was that? Drink the place dry... big mistake. ohmy.gif
Carm
Great night out, thanks Harry and Jason for a great time, and wishing you the best of luck in your new lives.
sparty
Yes, great night! Thanks guys!

I'm covered in white fluff and my head feels like an elephant took a black shite in it. So it's mission accomplished - thanks men first 11 hours sleep I've gotten in years:)

Jesus man I only woke at 1300 today...first time I slept more than 5 hrs in years..it was animal.I took a blackout , cant remember much except I arrived in Arc sometime after 7pm!!

Me lass bought two choclate brownies ice creams there, and we decided to eat them just now,,,,its about all I can hold down...she opened one for me and guess what? in true Arc fashion it was half eaten ...I had to swiftly run to the jacks and throw up again...

Welcome to a another Sunday hell in Bayern..times like this I wish I was normal and not a F****** emmigrant .

Sad to see Arc change ownership...I liked the theme, a bar that catered for sad single lads like meself who wanted to ease the pain with cheap beer. Great spot.
Sin
Flat Rate Boozing? I like it. Now all you've got to work out is what is the average value of the alcohol consumed to the headcount, stick, say 25% on, add some profit, split the numbers and pay on the door. A Saturday once a month could be a regular riot. Closed the next day.

I had to bale out at Midnight. Sinderella had to get up at Ridiculous o'Clock and take Sin Jnr. swimming. Twas mighty fun anyway. Apologetix to anybody I may have offended or embarrassed. I was in the wickedest of moods.
Owain Glyndwr
feck, shame i missed this. where i was i had to make do with flame-throwing cocktail juggling bartenders (à la Tom Cruise) and drunken lasses dancing on the bar (à la Coyote Ugly).

DJ_Jazzy_Guff
That was insane. From memory I averaged about 80 cents a drink with all the shots, mixers and beers. I was in that place for about 11 hours. That's just wrong! Feel absolutely dreadful. Anyways, here's to a quality night (toasting with water of course)!!
sarabyrd
Hangover? What's that? I was only rather dozy and dopy as my cat woke me up at 7.30am after about four hours sleep wanting to go outside. Scoffed down some leftovers around 11am (couldn't tear myself away from a book before that), had a nap in the afternoon, feel great.

Yes, I remember coining that phrase just before or after we removed the objective barstool from the thoroughfare.

Damn, how could I miss you? I was asking all sorts of handsome strangers if they were you and got negative answers only. Not even a phone number.
Hazza
I've felt better...

Someone gave me a shot of 73% rum and it was all downhill from there.

Thanks everyone for sending us off with a fantastic night.
Punchbear
I would've thought it was that oversized bottle of pink stuff you were swiggin' from at one stage wink.gif

Oh I was there alright and I've now got crazy Cavan man and his face to go with the_eagle wink.gif One down, only another 12, 549 to go.
Oh and Amber, I'm terribly sorry for your jacket, won't happen again, I promise.

Jesus, will this hangover just stop already. One trip to Mamas Kebabs won't be enough I fear...

Just a quick reply to the_eagle and indeed, eveyone else:
Although The Arc is now under new ownership, the theme, the atmosphere, the regular events and also the rest of the staff will be staying exactly the same!
You will all be made most welcome, so please do call in and say "Hello"
Marshbot
That was an awesome night peoples. One of the best, although I'm only just feeling a little bit together again this morning (I can tell I'm off colour because I shouldn't be up so early on a Monday... was another record-breaker sleep here but mine had to be delayed a night).
I got to see the place on Sunday (lucky). A terrifying sight to behold indeed, amazingly there is still more beer & spirits left! At the end some of those drinks were verging 75% alcohol to 25 mixer, you brave soldiers.

I was a little worried about all the twats and weirdos who might turn up for flat-rate alcohol (I like that phrase) and spoil the fun but that was a great crowd - no trouble, no wankers, cool people, rock-star band: bloody good night.
On behalf of all the staff who worked Saturday - thanks for the great tips too, I'm surprised people even had their wallets with them so that was unexpected and very much appreciated.

See ya Harry & Jason. It was fun, hopefully the pub you spawned together will continue to make you proud even though you'll be annoying the staff from the other side of the bar from now on.
Good job lads & hope you're not feeling too naked and barless today, like life's pintless all of a sudden. I expect we'll see you back next weekend probably anyway, same place, same time, different bar stool.

p.s. No more 'Deal Or No Deal' on weekdays? YAYYYY!

Are the rumours that The Arc will now become an Aussie-themed strip-club called 'Sheilas and Tequilas' true?
SleeplessInMunich
Aye, it was a good night indeed although I bowed out early than expected. Actually I don't know what time I left but things were still going strong at that point.
Yeti
Topics of conversation on Saturday night:

The advatage of crossbows over air-rifles in an urban environment, controlled substances, adrenalin, cars, martial arts, heavy metal bands, breaking and entering, classic cars, women of the female persuasion, stuff that can't be categorised.

Be aware that these are only the conversations I remember.

Big thanks to Marshbot for mixing some serious drinks and remaining charming under pressure.
TheSwedishChef
One of my recurring themes of the evening was from some random individual who I apologise if they are reading this whom I cannot name, who's thoughts of the night, when encountered to and from the bogs, seemed to revolve around the oppressive nature of the government, and how communism was a popular alternative. Well, at least, that's what I think he was saying. It was hard to tell. The whole experience was reminiscient of Brad Pitt's character from Twelve Monkeys, in both physical appearance and style of speech. Impressive.
So mate, if you're reading this, you get my Oscar vote.
canuck
Thanks Harry and Jason for a great time Saturday night. Good luck to both of you in the future!!
Inflatablewoman
I knew it was time to leave when I was using a round tray as a shield and a rolled up bit of paper as a spear and started screaming "SPARTA!!!" at people... The not-so-very-ex-anymore wouldnt do the cool "huuuuu haaaaaaaaaaa" noise. 300 is a pretty cool movie.. if you like watching movies with men in tiny little leather undies, that is.

Thanks to Hazza and Jason for hosting some great nights, and to the bar staff on the evening who kept the drink coming!!!
Yeti
I knew I left too early.
Inflatablewoman
Oh and I would never drink this stuff normally for 4€ a bottle, but when its flat rate beerage time!!!

sarabyrd
IW, why were you showing your right shin around?
And a highlight of the evening was when someone tipped over a glass and a kind TTette helped wipe up the mess while unintentionally wiggling her (very nice) ass in someone's face. In all innocence, but the look on his face was priceless. I was laughing too hard to take a picture, sorry.

I was probably showing off my left leg cause I sliced it up a little...

Nice eh?
Yeti
Teach you to go defending a pass against the 10,000 Immortals without wearing your leg armour.
Darkknight
Nice road rash...
mere
aww so sad! congrats though Hazza and Jason.
sarabyrd
Thx, IW. Sorry I quoted the wrong leg.

So, when's the big opening party? tongue.gif

So, when's the big opening party?

Things have moved quite quickly over the last week as I have finalised all the arrangements to take over from Hazza and Jason. They have been superb and very supportive in helping me to learn just what our customers want and indeed, expect from The Arc. Yesterday was a very big (and long) day as the KVR arrived for the health and safety start-up check.
I am delighted to say this went well and we are now officially open again for business as many saw last night with the Monday quiz and then the final of March Madness.

Let's all get Easter behind us and then I think you're correct Dave, The Arc will need an official "opening party".

In the meantime, all the usual events will continue, so anyone calling in this week for some Champion's League?
Wee Mun
Will you be opening early for the cricket matches during the week??
The Arc
I'll look at the schedules and let you know whcih games we will be showing and when.
Jeeves
Bugger, I missed this completely.
I would register inconsolable regret if I hadn't been having such a good time nowhere near Munich.
Cheers Hazza and Jason and all the best for whatever and wherever...
sarabyrd
Sorry I'm late putting the pics up, we've been renovating and I didn't have the time to mess around with the Gallery.
