I´ll rephrase this:
What exactly do I need to do before I start a job in Germany.
Do I need to register with the german government somehow?
How do I set myself up to pay taxes or will my employer do this?
Where can I get cheap health insurance or will I have to get it in conjunction with my employer?
Do i need a number from the government before I start work as in a number that is used to identify me for tax or social welfare purposes, if so where should I get it? Is it the same number as my health insurance number?
Sorry to ask such seeminly obvious questions but I´m sure they are only obvious if you know the answers as any foreigners working in germany must know
Cheers!!!

u will need a contract or an offer letter to start your job. then u will need to find a house and register. once u are in your company, your employer will apply for u, so u will get a social security number etc. this will come to your home address. meanwhile u need to sign up for an insurance, there must be couple of related topics here in the forum, search for them. u will need to send a form to declare your taxable income to government. taxes automatically will be cut from your salary, so this declaration will be mostly for tax return purposes. assuming your only income will be your salary, a payroll document from accounting department should be enough as a document. u dont need a number. social security number will come to your home, and u will get your tax number after submitting your tax return documents. these are based on my experience, dont know if other people had different ones.
