I've used them and while I was pleased with the fabric quality and stitching, my skirts were a lot shorter than expected and not the knee length ordered and the jackets were slightly boxy so I had them retailored as the back was too straight. This could have been partly my own fault as I might not have chosen the right style and should have gone for something a lot more tailored.
Think I posted about them once, I'll dig it up... here you go.
My stuff arrived this morning and it is currently hanging up in my office to relax a bit before I try them on.
The fine wool does feel right but the jacket appears to be less fitted than ordered so I might have to get that retailored here (it just feels rather straight and I wanted a more fitted waist - it could have been my fault due to the choice of a top of hip, single breasted, one button style). Have not yet tried the shirt/blouses.
Well, the suits aired for a day and I tried the stuff on last night, so here's how they turned out:
Length, shoulders, lapels, sleeves - A1, nice that the bottom of the sleeves do not flap
Fabric? Perfect (the Zegna cool wool worked even better than I thought it would, the cream pinstripe very fine against the black)
Trousers - nicely cut, length is spot on, very happy, half-lining though, might have to have that shortened.
Skirt - yowzer! Wanted to the top of the knee with a front left split, got over an inch higher with a very high split, maybe tailor thinks I have nicer legs than I think I do? Anyway, waist and hips fit - a miracle indeed.
Jacket - here's the crunch, there is no waist in it. None. The back has been left straight, like in a man's suit so that I look bigger and squarer than I am. It needs retailoring. Think it has been made from a men's pattern (heck, it is a Thai suit, maybe they get lots of orders from gents with boobies?). A real shame but probably fixable. The style was, however, correct, maybe I should have been more specific on the shaping?
The silk shirts - colours good (burnt orange and apple green - I suit those off colours for some reason), collars unfortunately very stiff like men's formal shirt, cream buttons used and those will probably get changed to something less jarring. No gaping and the fit is fine.
The cotton shirt - better than I could have imagined, it is exactly right. Heavy stiff white cotton with French cuffs, the fit is brilliant. The Holy Grail of shirts has been found, I'm pleased as punch with it. Very masculine style but cut for curves, just right.
So, a slightly mixed bag but I'm not that disappointed.
Now I just have to find a good
alterations tailor who is great with suits - unfortunately my great tailor retired and went back to Turkey, so any recommendations additional to that thread would be very welcome.
And at least I can now take the white shirt to other places to get copies made - hurrah!
Sadly (or rather not so sadly) I bought the things 8 kilos ago and now they no longer fit.
