First Financial Direct (a TT advertiser)

I'm thinking about investing some money with First Financial Direct who is a TT sponsor.. has anyone done any business with them before? Any opinions?

Anyone had any experience with First Direct? I'm in need of financial advice re pensions for ex-pats and have seen their advertisement on the TT site but can't find any homepage or other reference when I google the name. Would like to hear from anyone who knows them/has used them already. Thanks in advance.

First Direct in the UK is a subsidiary of HSBC but I don't know if they are the same company. There is also a 1st Direct in the USA.

The name of the TT advertiser is First Financial Direct and appears to be a one-man operation. An earlier request for information did not get any responses.

The Toytown advertiser is an independent guy as far as I could tell, and is not related to First Direct in the UK..

I met this guy a couple of times, but it didn't work out.

EDIT: I've had a few messages about this now. Just to clear things up, I'm not suggesting this guy shouldn't be trusted or that he ripped me off or something. In fact, in the end he was quite professional about everything. If you have an interest in investing, you should go and have a chat with him. That won't cost you anything.

I've dealt with him and found his advice to be very good.

He took an investment plan that I already had, that was performing badly and losing money, and reallocated the funds for me. After he did that it started to perform better and it's now worth quite a lot more than I've invested in it.
