Television repair shops or repairmen in Munich

How and where to go for TV repairs

Unfortunately, I came home tonight to discover that my TV decided to stop working. sad.gif

I haven't dug up the warranty info on it yet, so I'm not sure if it'll be covered. In the case that I have to pay for it myself, what's the best and cheapest way to get it repaired? Is it it even worth it (it cost me 250€)? I don't have a car and this baby's a 71 cm monster. I could potentially ask someone to drive me to a repair shop with it (I'm looking at you Bunce wink.gif), but is it at all possible and reasonably priced to get a repairman to come to your home? Does anyone have any experience with this?

If it is two years old or less, then it is gauranteed.
What is the brand? I had a Phillips video recorder fixed by some really nice guys downtown. One of them even wanted to go to Tennessee to work at the Phillips plant there. I think he even spoke with my sister that worked there then. Small world!
The cost depends on the problem. What is it doing or not doing?
If it just doesn't turn on at all and the little red always on light is out, then it may just be a switch. Not cheap, but better than buying a new one. If it is more of a computer board or tube defect, then it is time to go to Walmart and buy a new one.

Agthe TV on Schleißheimerstr (ecke Heß Str.) is a TV repair shop. Don't know about the prices, but the people there are quite nice.

Thanks guys. Hey eurovol, you're a genius, you've described the problem exactly. wink.gif It doesn't turn on, the little light doesn't turn on, and in addition it makes a periodic, high-pitched whirring sound. I think it's just under two years old, so now I just have to find the receipt...I know I saved it just for this purpose.

So if it's under warranty then I suppose that means I'll have to cart it back to Walmart then, right? Ms. Bunce... rolleyes.gif

Oh, the whirring problem. It is definitely a defect along the power supply. DO NOT TURN IT ON AGAIN. Seriously, you will only make it worse. Tell whomever that repairs it that it is a power supply problem and is about to go POP!
When the pop happens, you may affect the board.
Walmart has a two year warranty on everything and a three year warranty on "Walmart brands".
If you bought it with cash, you may need the receipt. If you bought it with EC or Credit, you can get away with the billing to your card. Always available from the bank or your big ass folder of monthly statements. ASSuming you have that Leitz Ordner!

It's definitely under two years old, and the brand is Imperial. I already had to take my DVD player back there to be replaced (unfortunately I didn't get back my copy of Mullholland Drive that it ate mad.gif ). How can I prove with my EC or CC statement that it's for the TV, particularly if I also bought several other items at the same time? I know that receipt must be around here somewhere...
eurovol
Just bitch at them long enough to prove your point.
Basically, they only want to know that you bought it there and what the date was.
Also, they may be the only sellers of Imperial in Munich and they will know on which dates that they sold it at which particular price. They also have the receipt your looking for. They rang it up and they know that you paid for it and what you paid for as long as you have some kind of identification like an EC number or Credit Card number to pull it out of their files. ohmy.gif You are being watched and recorded.
That is how they track what to bring in and in what quantity and when. Basic economics of pleasing the customer(s).

Can anyone please recommend an English speaking Television Engineer ? It's not the actual TV that is at fault but the aerial socket in the wall is loose ! Thanks for any advice ... rolleyes.gif

someone like Bavaria Satellite might be able to help. Why don't you email them and ask.
