Not only is it funny... but I didn't know anything about these 'baby boxes' before reading the article. It sounds like a good idea, but still kind of odd.

Brilliant idea, the "Baby Hatch" that is, not getting drunk and climbing in one...

Does anyone know if the UK has them?

In Germany, these boxes are known as "Babyklappe".

I always love the captions that Metro puts on their pictures. "What Heinrich Mueller did not look like" -- Genius!

I didn't know about the Babyklappe either; it does sound like a good idea, though. Now they just need to drunk-proof the things. Bet that never came up as a potential requirement during planning meetings.

I knew about the Babyklappen ..-. I just thought they were baby-sized. You have to wonder how small Heinrich is...

I think these are good idea !!! Should have them in the UK as well...
