This week Munich was chosen to host the
MTV Europe Music Awards 2007. The party will be held in the Olympiahalle on Thursday, 1st November. As every year, many stars of the international music scene will be in attendance.
This is the 14th such award ceremony and the third to have been held in Germany. Previous hosts cities have been Berlin and Frankfurt. Last year was Copenhagen, hosted by Justin Timberlake, and 2005 was in Lisbon, hosted by Borat.
Winners last year were Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera in the best male and female categories. The Killers for best rock, and Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" for best song.
There's no info yet on tickets for the 2007 awards.

This is fantastic news for Munich. Hope they have some top names there and Borat hosts again. Yes I know I am too old for it and some of the talent is rather dubious but it is a massive show brought together by some talented people under very tight schedules. Let us know where and when I can buy tickets.

I have only dated inflateable women in private before, would you be offended if you only inflate inside the arena after the lights have gone down - I would feel a bit embarrased otherwise - hope it doesn't smudge your makeup.

As long as you wash it after previous date thats the important thing. Without giving away to much suspense, do you have the blowjob mouth like some of them have.

i dont think this is as great news as you think.
picture it:
shops, bars, clubs all being closed off so some 13 year old can look at invisible clothes and drink soda pop.
roads around olympiahalle being closed off causing traffic chaos.
the chances of locals (albeit foreign locals) getting tickets on general sale are minimal - most are guestlist/corporate/press/competition winners
there wont be ANY decent quality coke around, although if thats your thing, im sure
olympiapark is the spot to look for leftovers.
fuck it, like i said in the
Love Parade thread, anything that brings a bit of life to munich is good news by me, even if it is the SUCK SATANS COCK brigade.

Seems that the tickets aren't on sale yet...Does anybody have a confirmation that they have been on sale? Also no tickets at E-Bay and I called the Olympiapark- they could give me no information as to when the tickets will be made available.
Please ...somebody PM me when they go on sale. I NEED to go to this event.
Thanks Nu

Hi!
i'm from italy and i'd like to go to the emas this year...
i sent an email to ticketcorner ( the main sell-tickets site for germany ) but they told me that usually MTV sell his own tickets for these shows...
go also on souldeventtickets.com there are tickets disponible but they are for VIP MTV and they are a lot expensive...i wonder when the " normal" tickets will be on sale???
I asked them about tickets, here's the answer:
Hallo,
Dein MTV Team

omg du spast, was laberst du
thanks!!

It basically says that only about 20% of the tickets (which amounts to about 1500) will go on sale through official channels, the rest will be distributed via Competitions and suchlike. Prices vary between 120-650 Euros, depending on where the seat is. Getgo and Eventim (whatever they are, Agencies or something?) have 10% each of the available tickets, the rest goes to other Ticket sellers. The Poster claims to have a friend who works for MTV Europe and is thus knowledgeable about those things.

The Catholic church is demanding that the event is canceled as 1 November is All Saints and a high Catholic holiday, one of the days where loud music and dancing in public places are still banned (same as e.g. Good Friday). They are doing this to distract from the latest paedophile scandal in Riekofen to uphold the Catholic identity of Munich and Bavaria.
City hall is insisting that as the event is an indoors venue limited to a comparatively small attending clientel and as it is also an event of international importance cementing Munich's role as an important cultural venue it was correct to issue the permission in spite of the holiday character of the day.

your chances are pretty low. there is online artice on
SZ which states that getting tickets the normal way 'buy them' is nearly impossible.
good luck anyway
bit late in the day and no time to translate sorry! Just received following email from MTV. Cant believe they are doing a casting for audience members...

That's a bit crazy. I heard from someone who works at Sony Ericsson and they can't get tix either.
Anyway, they need to go back to getting comedians hosting it. These ©rap stars have no personality.

There are posters up around London for this, featuring Mr Snoop Doggy Dogg himself in
Lederhosen (and I think in football socks?). Similar to
this picture, but you can't really see his socks there.

I've just heard on the radio that Pete Doherty and Amy Winehouse are going to do a duet, that should be good for a laugh!
Although this site denies it!
