Helicopters seen at the Olympic Tower

Installation of a digital TV aerial

Did anybody who lives or works near the Olympiapark notice two huge Russian helicopters hovering over the Olympic Tower yesterday? I did, and I wondered what they were up to. Turns out that they were installing the new antenna for digital terrestrial TV. The tower is now 291.21 meters tall, that's 1.75m more than it was on Monday. Remember, as mentioned on TT a month ago, digital TV is coming to Munich. If you receive your TV programming via the airwaves, as opposed to satellite or cable, then from 30th May you'll be needing a digital decoder (ca. €100).
