Fahrenheit 911, the latest film from Michael Moore, was released in the U.S. and U.K. at the end of June. On Wednesday (28.July.2004) the film comes to Munich. This is the "must see" film of the Summer. The opening sequence shows President Bush and his team preening themselves in preparation for a televised address to the nation. That sequence alone justifies the ticket price. The only cinema in Munich which seems to be advertising the film so far is Cinema Muenchen where it'll be played in English of course (without German subtitles). Fahrenheit 9/11 will probably come to other Munich cinemas soon enough. When it does, take care to note which version is showing. The language will probably be advertised as "OmU". This would usually mean Original mit Undertitel. But with documentary films like 9/11 it actually means that only the documentary footage will be English with German subtitles. The spoken commentary will be dubbed into German. ..discussion of Fahrenheit 9/11

After being told 'America is under attack' when the second plane hit the tower on 9/11, George W. Bush continued to read 'My Pet Goat' in a Florida classroom for the next seven minutes.

If you still haven't registered to vote: US citizens can register and request an absentee ballot before or after most of the "Fahrenheit 9/11" showings at Cinema. Ask the AOK-volunteers who will be nearby.
