As spotted by Eamonn Fitzgerald: It's Monday, and for readers of the Munich-published Süddeutsche Zeitung that means it's New York Times day. Yes indeed, the Monday issue of the "SZ", as the locals call the broadsheet, now comes with a 16-page, tabloid format, supplement of the Times. And it's all in English. It is a quality production and a welcome addition to the week. It also says an awful lot about the role of English as a second language in Germany. nice try SZ, but i got the feeling of reading a leaflet of the democrats. kind of unbiased wheel... but ok, articles selected by the SZ aren't they?

Nice little "freebie" but more magaziney than a newspaper. And of course, being American it only has American news...
