As reported in the
SuedDeutsche yesterday, the city of Munich will soon decide to allow all public houses to remain open until 5am. Currently the bars must close at 2am because the authorities are worried about disturbances late at night. Disturbances? In Toytown??? During a pilot scheme last year 10 city districts were allowed to stay open late and it was found that the disturbance to the neigbourhoods was minimal. So by the end of 2004 restrictions will be lifted all across Munich, including the traditional party areas such as Schwabing, Haidhausen, and Isarvorstadt. I'll drink to that!
