Mr. Mark Lovell,
I am very excited and cannot explain my feeling when I came to know that there is a cricket club here in Munich. I read your story and I can imagine your feeling when you first saw the cricket ground. Its been a year that I am here in Germany and I miss cricket very much. I am from Pakistan and was a member of Peshawar University Cricket Team during my MBA. Sir is that possible that I come to you and have a meeting. I do play cricket very well and wish if I can carry on with it.
I am anxiously waiting for your reply.
I thank you for your time and concern.

asim, let me reply on behalf of mr lovell who is away at the moment searching for salvation...
munich cc is a very social cricket club who embark on lots of international tours as well as playing successfully at german league level. new players are always welcome of course.
training is every friday at our ground in the english garden..this will commence in early may with 40over fixtures from the end of april to september weather permitting. munich cc annual general meeting will be held sometime in february for your further information..
i see asim you are in traunstein... which may be your only logistical problem...
best wishes

That's it - I'm leaving Stuttgart and will be on the next train to Munich. I am appalled at the idea that you haven't just got a team but an actual league. Its just wrong.

I can not play Cricket to save my life (a lot of Australians might think that makes me a typical Englishman) but it is good to see you bringing it over to Germany and I was amazed that there is such a thing as the Bavarian league.
all power to you

Wondering if there's any cricket played in what used to be East Germany, particularly in Dresden or Sachsen. Anyone knows anything do e-mail me at mf_keating@yahoo.co.uk - I've been looking on the web but can't find any info at all...
Cheers!

Dear Mr. Mark Lovell & Company! I'm living in Tuebingen and as usual this year have started playing cricket for fun this summer in our studentendorf!! We dont have good cricket stumps and it is expensive to get it from england or through any shopping sites! If u have any used stumps (6nos) and bails, pls inform me so that i could buy it for a reasonable student price. Expecting your favorable reply.
Thanks
seeni.

seeni, they are quite easy to make, simple really. Go to nearest forest collect some suitable wood and with a sharp knife chop and carve away. Hey presto.

Cricket in Munich! I love this! I might add that I'm not German, don't live in Germany and nothing really to do with Germany except that I will be passing through Munich in July. Good luck to everyone associated with the sport! I'll try to drop by when I'm there to see if there's a game on :)

hello dear sir:
how r u.i hope you are fine and healthy. You are clearly barking mad and in need of some urgent pyschological assistance. This is an internet site providing information about Munich in English and a chat forum. It's not a charity whose purpose is to provide assistance to potential Indian batsmen, or batty men, or whatever you claim to be. If you want to come here or, "come in australia" then just do it. If you want financial assistance to make this possible then you're seriously barking up the wrong willow tree pal. Good luck.

We welcome players from all countries to come and play for us. However, we are a social club (as indeed are all clubs in Germany), so we offer no financial assistence. If you want to play for us, however, and pay your 50 annual fee, then there is no reason we would not give you a game. If you've played first-class cricket, then I dare-say you would probably walk into our league team.
If you want to play cricket for money, perhaps you should do some research and have a look at the status that German cricket actually has. Why don't you look for a team in England, or a country that actually has professional cricketers? Germany has none, and you are not likely to be the first.

You have two sides one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
When both sides have been in and out including the not outs , THAT'S THE END OF THE GAME !

Hi!
I'm just wondering like Mike a couple of comments further up, if there is any cricket in Sachsen (or Dresden)? Because since I'm in New Zealand I'm really interested in cricket. And the BlackCaps here are so amazing!
