Its not worth renting..
For €90-ish you can buy a cheap Hammer drill from Baywa/Obi etc
Bert
No way a 19 yoyo drill is getting into my walls, its beton and reinforced at that. Its a Hilti or a glue gun!

I got through my cement ceiling to install light fixtures with a hammer drill. I don't know anything about building, so I don't know what reinforcement you're talking about...but the cement was no problem for me.

Hiya
I got a Bosch hammer drill for less than 90€ at OBI. Does the business no question.
Katrina
PS Yes you should all be scared by the fact that I own a hammer drill. I am.

If you have real problem walls like us (it's mad! There are metal strips in the walls and things!!) then I'd recommend a "Borhammer"... we got a Bosch one from Obi for EUR 99 I believe. Just watch out for those wires smile.gif
Bert
Thanks all, I'm off to Obi!
Cheers

Ok, so this is my understanding...

A hammer drill is the one needed for efficient use on Concrete, these drills typically use SDS drill bits, ie a pushfit, keyless chuck. this type of drill has a small hammer action build into the gearbox, that drives the drill into the material..

The other use of the term "Hammer drill" usually costs about 50€ and has a Keyed Chuck.. This type of drill has its own name a "percussion drill". This system consists of two round and serated collars passing over eachother, thus simulating a hammer action..

Go on... correct me if ia wrong.. please

you can also rent stuff like that at Obi and other Baumärkte. Don't have to buy it.

Anyone know where to rent construction equipment (i.e. multi-purpose tools, ladders, etc) near the Messe?

Big thanks!
Grinner
Yes thanks
