Go-karting at "AK racing" in Garching

If the start time is 1pm, how much earlier will we have to be there, will 12:30 be early enough?

Where would be the meeting point? Directly at the gokart place or somewhere else?

Meeting point - Well, for those who know where the track is, we can meet there. I'll wait at Garching Hochbrück U-Bahn stop, the place is only 2 bus stops and a short walk from the station.

Time to get there, yep I'd say start showing about 12.30 onwards.

If you are coming on the U6 to Garching Hochbruck, here are the buses that'll get you nearer the go kart track

12:25 dep. Garching-Hochbrück Regionalbus 219A
12:28 arr. Hochbrück, Voithstraße

12:41 dep. Garching-Hochbrück Regionalbus 294
12:44 arr. Hochbrück, Voithstraße

You could also come from Unterschleißheim if thats an easier station to get to, and get the 219 bus

So, does a group of more than 21 mean that some people need to wait? or can they squeeze a few persons into the group?

We'll sort that out tomorrow. We'll have to do a few races to get everyone in.

I've booked 10 karts at 54€ each and increased the booking to 24. So if we have 24 people tomorrow, its going to cost 22,50€ each. A few of you have mentioned other people other than your +1's, so the number could go up even more yet.

What's the exact meeting time. 12:30 at Garching Hochbruck, and then walk to track getting there before 13:00?

Its about a 10 minute walk from the bus stop to the track. I'd say getting in to Garching around 12.25 as Don posted above wouldnt be a bad idea.

Just checking the MVV website, taking Sedlinger Tor as a start point, I'll be getting the 11.56 U6 to Garching Hochbruck arriving at 12.18.

Also a note on what to wear - Everyone make sure you come with clothing that will cover your legs and arms!

To which I might add: Decent shoes.

About the white helmet, don't be worrying about that, but I do think I qualify if you are talking about near death experiences...

You won't have that kind of trouble, go-karts don't have any of those fancy appendages such as windshields or hoods.

If we're going to do it again then the 16th June would probably be ok. 23rd June is definitely out as I'll be in England for the MotoGP.

It was really fun, especially crashing on me first lap and wasting a kart. But they gave me another one and I was able to keep racing. Looking forward to the next one.

Anyone out there who did not participate - don't waste your time watching others, they look so slow. Get into this skeleton of a car with the fuel tank between your legs and push the pedal to the metal. You think driving in Germany is a nightmare - try driving a go-kart against TTers.

Thanks 3Lions, was a great day despite my incredibly sore arms and sunburn. I was surprised at how competitive I got when I was out there. I beat JOB so that's all that matters!
