I've been chatting to a few people about this. We did this back in 2005 on the 18th June. The place is dead easy to get to, just take the U6 to Garching and then a bus a couple of stops and its about a 5 minute walk.

Go Karting - Garching

Good thing about this place is that they are fairly flexible on bookings, we just need to let them know roughly how many will be showing up. There is a bar & beergarden there to watch the racing action and some spectacular spin outs... rolleyes.gif

Obviously weather permitting as its an outdoor track. Also the date doesnt have to be set in stone, if there is a majority who would prefer a different weekend, then I am sure we can change.

So if you're available on the 21st, stick your name below and we'll get it sorted.
Scogs
If I am working in Munich you can count me and Sarabyrd in for this
Edit: its a saturday...count us both in

In, I just talked with a couple of friends about this a few weeks ago. Will ask them also to see if they would join.
RedReitenHood

Sign me up!

List is currently at approx 15 people. Usually they will split us in to groups (max 10). Then race separately.

I've not posted how much it costs, simply because I dont know! IIRC, it wasnt much more than 20€.

So more the merrier.
Guy
Yeah, put me down. Don't actually know anyone, but should be a good laugh.
There's an indoor one called Kartpalast as well, been there once or twice. Not that I'd let the fact it's round the corner from me influence anything. wink.gif

Well if the weather takes a turn for the worse in April, we may have to switch indoors.
canuck
Count me in.
MinalK
Lock me in Eddie.
RockThrust
I am up for it, but not if we go indoors. Prefer to get wet.
Wizadora
I would be up for this too!

tempel
I'd definetely be in for Go-Karting as well. As I do not read this forum too often, I'd appreciate a mail to confirm when dates are set.

Thanks for making the effort of organizing it! smile.gif
Owain Glyndwr

I've been in the indoor one near Westpark. Don't worry - you'll get wet in those overalls and the tight course. Plus, they have showers ;-p
Tom17
A wet race would be interesting.. it's been a while
chatrapathyv
I would also like to join...
Fra
That sounds like a great idea. Count me in!
sarabyrd
3L, you have got 20 people together there, that's almost a Formula 1 lineup! Way 2 go!
*forgive the slang, on painkillers and Chilean wine*
don_riina
I'll be along to drink beer, and if its warm, I might make a fire in the fields next door, and cook al fresco paella.
10 quid a head, apart from 3Lions.
TexasTornado
OhMyGosh! I am so there!!! Pick me! Pick me! (wavig both hands in air) I'm actually typing with my feet.

A gourmet meal prepared by don_riina after opening up a big old can 'O whoop ass on the track?
Oh Yea .
I'm SO there.
I'll even provide the recreational drugs for the after the race party.
Meat and Potato
Heard about this from the wife and have planed a trip to London around being back to attend.
Can’t wait to drink some beer and get in a go-cart. ph34r.gif
ruapehu
turns out I am out of town that weekend so can't join you after all sad.gif Have a great time!
RedReitenHood
Sorry I can't make it now due to another engagement. Have fun!
Meat and Potato
Well I will add someone in… tongue.gif
It will be myself +1 now
3 Lions
OK, I've booked for approx 20 people for the 21st April at 1pm.

Price per person will be 27€ (Its 54€ per cart, 10 Karts, 20 people).

If we have less than 20, then it may cost a little more. Though if more want to sign up, let me know so I can alter the booking.
Solo
Cool! Do you know what kind of format we will be doing?

My preference would be for the result to be determined by racing against each other for position rather than for lap times. Always seems much more fun to me...
3 Lions
As with last time, we can decide on the day. The place is flexible to whatever we want. However, the problem with racing for position is that those who are lightest, especially the kids that were there last time, will fly past some of use heavy weights.
Solo
Thats exactly why I think that racing for position is better as it places far less emphasis on out and out speed and more on actual "racing". When racing just for lap time it is more of an advantage to simply find some clear space on the track than it is to overtake and I personally find that overtaking and trying to progress or keep people behind is the main part of the fun. IMHO of course! wink.gif
Scogs
We should sort some sort of trophies out for the day...sort of 1st 2nd 3rd and one for the best spin/near death experience, not sure but mister minute the shoe repair and engravers do this sort of thing dont they?
3 Lions
Actually, if people dont mind coughing up an extra €, the Karting place will provide trophies.
Tom17
Should we vote on that? smile.gif

Personally all I want to hold in my hand is a go-kart steering wheel followed by a nice cool beer...

But if everyone wants to do the trophy thing, I will of course go along with it. You just better make them for 2nd 3rd & 4th place ph34r.gif
sarabyrd
Oh, don't let's go all competitive about this! Go-karting cannot be taken seriously or all the fun flies out the window. Trophy for Best Spin, ok.
3 Lions
Trophy for best spin, I reckon I would have taken that home from last time.
3 Lions
OK, according to my list I have 22 people signed up.

If you are not coming can you please let me know asap. If we are 20 people, then its an easy 2 races of 10, if its anymore, we may stretch it to 3 races.

I am now no longer +1.

That remark in context with your user name looks so sad!
